Wow... Nice necropost divigarrett. The info in here was pretty much outdated and you felt the need to revive a 2 year old thread with useless info about a piece of crap gun that will get you laughed off the field. Just a tip - read more, post less.

Now that this thread has been revived, there are now real alternatives to the TM P90. The TM now sells in the $600-ish range, and that's for a used gun, as new ones are hard to come by. Echo 1 and Classic Army both make a P90 now are reasonable prices around $350.

The CA is from their Sportsline series. It's mostly plastic just like the TM. It's their lower line of product and not from their regular high end line. That being said, it's getting good reviews.

IMO, the Echo 1 E90 is the only real choice, and IMO, kicks the snot out of even the TM. Its metal upper makes it worth it, as well as it's reinforced 7mm bushing gearbox and reinforced internals. The only place it's lagging behind is trademarks. For some people (like myself), that's not an issue. For others, they cannot forgive the lack of official trades.

Everything I've read on the CA say the internals (especially the piston) are complete pieces of shit compared to normal CA guns.

Yeah, some are problematic, while others seem to work despite the lower end internals.

Hence why I say the Echo 1 is the only real choice.

Mine is currently being shipped! Can't wait to get it. I've used the TM before and loved it, so if the E90 is even better.... I'm gitty with anticipation of awesome.

I slightly regret selling my p90. TM, high ROF, could play all day with it without tiring my arms. The main reason I sold it? Mag choices. Only left with the 68 rnd mags which weren't that easy to get because of fake rounds, or the high caps which were complete garbage.
And now, just a few short months after, a company comes out with full black mags (so they're good to import yourself) which are 130 round mid caps. GODDAMN YOU WORLD!

EDIT: nvm, not black mags, but clear dark plastic.

Yea, you can get them Airsoftgi. That and there's some retailers here that sell the 68-round JG mags for cheap.

I've had limited hands-on time with the TM and never got to give them a side-by-side review. I remember the TM looking great, but being very lightweight and really feeling like a toy (which it is, technically). The E1 feels much more substantial. And of course, it performs a hell of a lot better out of the box too. And this thing is a tack driver too. It's completely stock, and this is the result I got out of a test fire. Stray shots are due to my shooting rather than the gun itself. This was done shooting with the gun shouldered, not benched.

The only problem I've had is that the cutoff lever failed shortly after getting it, so not it's auto-only. Otherwise it's been problem free. It's been gamed once, and about to be gamed again this coming weekend. I'm very, very happy with it. If you can live without the official FN trademarks, you won't regret this gun.

I have a horrible track record with ECHO1 quality control, they are DEFINITELY lacking in that regard. I guess you got lucky crunch.

No issues to date, and from the other reviews I've read on this gun, it appears to be the norm rather than the exception, at least on the E90.

HOLY NECRO POST BATMAN!!!!!

TM or TM Clones is the way to go, but TM is first priority. Firepower is well a p90 shaped brick, only good for throwing through windows... actually the Firepower would probably break before the window does.

You should get a TM one... triple rail version so you can put up your own optics of choice. I heard CA was releasing their own P90 series but I don't know if they are any good.

CA already released theirs. It's all plastic model from the Sportsline series with lower quality internals. Some work great, but many have serious internal problems. If you know how to do your own work, this is a minor issue as it's mostly the compression parts which are relatively cheap.

Still, I would never spend $600+ for a TM P90 when there's the metal goodness and good quality of the Echo 1. And seriously, you could replace the entire internals of an Echo 1 E90's mechbox with high performance aftermarket parts, and it would still be cheaper than getting a stock TM.

Actually there's a fix for the P90 hicaps. I found out more or less by accident last fall. I was messing around with my jamming hicaps, and tried out G&G P.S.B.B. 5.95mm BBs, and me and a friend played a whole day without any jams! Up until then we both had problems with both our hicaps (2x each). After that only occasional jams when it's VERY cold \^_^/ I also tried out many of the mods found on the net, but they didn't work, and thus was removed afterwards. Of course you need to keep the mags lubed aswell.

The Marui weighs about 2.2kg, and even more with batteries. The RS version weighs 2.54kg without ammo, and 3kg with ammo. This is even if the RS version has a metal upper receiver, while the TM one only has a plastic one. The RDS, Gearbox and battery is what really gives the TM gun it's close-to-realistic weight, while the RS P90 is quite a simpler design. It's prolly way more hollow inside than the TM.

I might also add that the TM lower has way better plastic quality compared to the Echo1 P90

-----

I convinced a friend of mine to get the Echo1 P90 from UNcompany. We both had the TM P90 (RDS) versions beforehand, and I badly regretted giving him that advice! For more info about the Echo1 disaster-P90, look here. I was meaning to write a review with pictures and everything, but I'm both busy and lazy

What I can say, is that seeing the Echo1 P90 made us both agree that the TM P90 was worth every single penny we had spent on it! Of course we got our guns from UNcompany, but I'm not sure if it's that easy to import guns on your own into Canada. They sure are cheaper than $500-600
