As a grenade, it's use is limited. As a mine/mini-mortar (directional) it has more potential even with a short range.
Who cares if you lose one, too? |

Question 2: is it possible to make it so you can fire something that makes a flash or bang? Or something else that signifies it just went "boom"? A BB spread is cool and all but you could probably convert it into a grenade if you could make it, say, detonate some caps on impact.

I bought a dozen of these on the weekend (was my son's birthday party, so these will pull double duty), they are 3 for $1 at Dollarama. Am going to play around with them, should be entertaining.

Did you figured out a way to install them on the field so they can be trigered by a trip wire or something like that. I think of making a base to attach it with some sort of pivot so it can be mounted a way to shoot at someone when he step on the trip wire...

I made a spring Mine way back in the day when I first started playing Airsoft. I also made several different types of gas Mines as well. In my experience springs and gas are a waste of time. They are to complicated and take to long to set up. And just dont have the power or noise to make it worth all the time put into them. I think a Mine that just made a lot of noise would be more effective and interesting. You could just declare the person who tripped it dead and at least you got one person.
Something as simple as a trigger that drops a hammer onto a primer. Would scare the shit out of you and guarantee one kill. It would also alert everyone in the area that someone just tripped a mine and died. After all my experimenting I honestly believe that Pyro is the only way to go. Its cheap, easy and effective. The only doubt I have is that Ive heard Madmax is working on an effective grenade that uses green gas. If anyone could figure it out I think that would be the person. Here some pictures and a video of my Mine I built way back when. It looks effective but the spring had to be so powerful it made it a pain to set up. It would take about 150lbs to compress the spring. So if you weigh less then that you would need some help.

Had one of those beer induced brainstorm sessions the other night, how to make a more reliable, yet simple trigger mechanism for those booby trap things using the party poppers (incidentally, got a good 15ft from adding it first as above and using little dry beans, like 100 per load), woke up the next moring to find one stuck on the front of my spare KSG G19!
Ya, pics suck but you get the idea. Recognise any parts? Ya, I know, it looks crooked in the pics, is slightly is, and the camera angle is off a bit, but the gun shoots perfectly and the normally cracking report is muffled by a reasonable amount. Inside I put a roll of open cell foam that is about 1/4" thick, and outside is bicycle inner tube, helps reduce the resonance of the outer shell. |

Haha, I was just going to ask what your glock and silencer had to do with mines/boobytraps. But then I saw you were referring to using the entire thing as one, I guess?
