How does that work? I thought I read in the Firearms Act that anything over 12.5mm/.50 cal was not considered a firearm, although I may be wrong....

Basically, M203 was not considered a firearm in the past, therefore airsoft versions could not be considered prohibited replicas. Now, you must register real M203s as restricted firearms, therefore airsoft M203s will be classified as prohibited replicas. It may take some time for all agencies to get on-board, or it may not.
At any rate, I would tread lightly on out of country ordering of M203s, shells and especially sighting devices (leaf, quadrant, etc) as they are classified as controlled goods already.

Okay... Good information and already in another thread.
This thread is about getting one in Canada from a Canadian supplier. Just wondering if I am going to be able to mount this thing if I buy it or will it have to sit there while I start searching for mounting brackets. |

k, AAsurplus/AAairsoft is EXTREMELY BUSY!!!
the man gets like 200 emails a day, as far as i know he is only responding to PURCHASES. if you want something send him a part number as he will not look up the part number for you. any question about airsoft kit, look up reviews or ask on the boards. and questions are gear or kit, ask a JSOC member or ask on the boards. Hes not a FAQ and i dont think hes responding to questions anymore. I'd be happy to help you with questions about AAairsoft/AAsurplus. Next time i see him online I'll ask him if the CA M203 comes with mounting hardware |

Hey, I was very specific about my request (including item number) as I know the situation about ASC's CA M203's. Further, ASC's is $100 less so I thought that may be the reason. I looked through forums, tried google and now have posted for information but any photo I see is without the mounting hardware. However I do not see mention of the lack of harware being an issue (which I think it would be were this always the case.) I am a serious and potential buyer and this is not some FAQ and as I mentioned earlier, Mark did respond and said that he doesn't remember having to sell separate hardware or this issue arising but that he would ask his gunsmith. I think this was a perfectly valid question from a buyer about a product. If they don't come with hardware, I will get one from ASC and save $100. I do however appreciate your offer to help. |

That's cool. That's why I'm asking here. My previous post was 'cause I thought I was getting some 'tude and it's a strange situation to me if CA M203's are not sold with mounting hardware.

honestly the best thing to do is setup an appointment to go to his store and bring about 2000$ cash lol
he doesnt update his site very often (again, very busy). We're working on it. If you email him for parts that aren't in stock, it'll take a bit longer since he has to order them in, and he doesnt order unless he can fill up a big crate. as for items he has in stock its really just a matter of him reading your email and you sending him money, be patient. and i've never seen him take more than 3 hours to accept an EMT, i think hes got a ringtone for it on his cellphone or something lol i agree it would be weird getting an M203 without a way to mount it, time to invest in zip ties i guess lol Last edited by ThunderCactus; February 17th, 2007 at 05:26.. |

CA sells their M203's and mounting hardware separately (unless you get the RIS M203 of course, where the rail mount is integrated). This came as a big surprise to us on our last CA order, when we ended up with a bunch of M203's that couldn't be mounted to anything. Why they sell it separately is beyond me, it's just an inconvenience.
