Oh yeah, matt about the trigger gaurd I found that me being a right handed shooter that the trigger gaurd when flipped up was more hindering to me than it was down. Unless it swivels both ways...in that case I'm a goat and I should quit airsoft. Oh yeah, If CA starts making sigs, which their supposed to, I think I'll sell off my Remington M40 to buy one, because SIGs are, and will be my favourite assault rifle, ever since I first watch Robert Deniro own some people in Ronin with the 551 I've wanted one.

Yup, the trigger gaurd does flip up to both left and right sides. Like I said, Universally perfect.

Ah, I miss my Classic Green. 'Twas hard to justify a $3,000 "assault" rifle though with five round magazines and semiautomatic only for that kind of money, regardless if it's non-restricted. You can see her in the Gallery under SIGs. Oh, and shame on TSE for commissioning the LB version of the 551, another inch and a half and you're at non-restricted length. What a joke.

I think the CA SIG rumor started with some news that Yick Fung had bought the licensing rights to Swissarms.

Thumbs up Sg-1 all the way

The old SIG 551 and 550 are plainly bad and overly expensive to boot. I own an SG-1 and have previously owned a 550. The SG-1 is a great gun and I have had it for over 6 years with no problems with the body (had a cracked gear box but thats what happens when you modify and shoot it for 5 years). The SIG I only owned for a year and had many problems. First the burst is terrible, you think there's lag when shooting an AEG? You have not experienced lag until you shoot a SIG on burst(a full half second). So I disconnected that almost immediately (thats why the gun cost so damn much too!) The AK battery is completely lame..the thing runs out so fast its laughable...my SG-1 with a 3000 MaH 9v shoots all day. Then the stock...it not only squeaks like a disemboweled mouse(my cat is an excellent mouser) but it breaks...EASILY. In fact if you can find a 550 with a pristine stock(ie not fixed or cracked) it should be in an airsoft museum(or is in one). I have heard that the 551 cause of its smaller size and weight has less of a problem with this aspect but I havent had much first hand experience myself. However, the newer 552 stock is far stronger. I have inspected one and the build quality is much better. Also, they got rid of the silly burst chip. Unfortunately, it still uses a small AK battery. I love real steel SIGs, and the airsoft SIGs feel great in your hands and look extremely cool, but they are only good as a collector's piece(signifying TM design failure).

In short, don't look for a SIG 550, its a piece. The SG1 is a great gun, ask anyone that owns one or has owned one they'll tell you the same.

I own a 550 boosted to 400 fps and it's an awesome gun when you have the place to field it cause it's a HUGE gun to carry in dense forest or anything like this. Whit the high mount the sig really got a great look.

The Capt.
Shows what little you know. I've had a SIG for eight years now, works just as good as the day I bought it. Rate of fire is easy to fix, bigger battery (9.6v PEQ2 box), switch the motor to an EG1000=1500 rounds per minute, and there is no lag with the burst on mine. The SG-1 I bought about five years ago I sold two months after I bought it because of the weak gearbox. Basically Devon8822 like with any AEG you've got one person with bad and good luck with certain guns and another person with other luck. I've had no trouble with my SIGs and I know lots of other people with SIGs who have had no trouble. Some people hate SIGs some love them, in the end it's still your choice.
