I'm not a true gentleman. Besides, I probably would've got stuck with the pistol anyways, in the end...

Stupid question probably, but I assume M4 metal bodies would work fine as well?

Yup, you can put a metal body on an SRC M4. (If that's what you're asking)

Somebody scanned some of the manual. Their safety guide guide is a thousand times better than TM's. http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forum...opic=32685&hl=

Most of the reviews were probably from the version 1 SRC M4s. From what I heard, the version 2 SRC M4s are much better and much more reliable.

I had no problems with it, cronied at 320 fps (bone stock NIB). Some of the experts in the crowd said it sounded terrible though. As a beginner gun, I would have to say that it is really good, especially for the price. You can grab it out of the box and hop into a game (well with a battery of course) with no need to upgrade it.
I am quite happy with it, good loaner gun.

Can someone here with a SRC manual do me a favour? I need a high quality scan of the page with little safety pictures. I want to make some icons out of them.

Anyone here have the Crane stock version? Wanna vouch for the quality of the stock itself?

It looks as though the crane stock holds a large battery which is a plus. I hope its good quality.

i got the chance to work on an src m4 this weekend. the gun failed because the cylinder head shattered into about 20 pieces. i opened it up and found the nozzle and tappet were also broken. i can tell you it's not quite a tm clone in the mechbox, but real close. the piston is polycarb, with an easily removable piston head (also vented btw). the gearbox is a re-inforced (that's right folks) ver II box not unlike the g&p 7mm one, only this is 6mm. the bushings are abs, as was the stock cylinder head and spring guide (items to be replaced IMHO). the gears were a bit different though as the teeth were cut not in a classic triangle shape with stright sides, but bent slightly. this did not allow for good bevel to motor gear engagement, as the motor is a 100% copy of an eg1000 (put an eg1000 sticker on it and you can't tell the difference.). the switch is also abs and looks exactly like the switch g&g used in their previous generation gr16 mechboxes. the upper receiver had a steel plate for reinforcing the rear receiver pin, which is a nice touch for a cheap aeg and unexpected. the shimming was good from factory and silicone lube used for cylinder and gears (also good to see). my overall opinion of this gun was good and i have no problem recommending it to someone who wants a tm and plans to upgrade anyway. my thinking save the 200 bucks off a tm, buy the src. that $200 goes a long way to better parts (even than those in a tm can't compete with that), metal body, etc. and you get a re-inforced mech box if you want bigger fps.

Do you know if it was a 2nd batch SRC M4?

I know the first batch that went out did have some minor issues....curious as to what batch this may have been from?

From what I've been reading, the crane stock versions are 2nd batches, don't know if they updated the 4 positon stock version.
