toptech gearbox shells are proprietary, just so you know. That's another from factory part you'll need.
I have 2 g&g v2 gearbox shells on my work bench that are cracked, so they're going to break in colder weather play without a sorbo pad added to the cylinder head.

On the flip side, since there's so many G&G retailers in Canada, parts are super easy to get. I have a stack of replacement non blowback mechboxes that I keep for people who break the pneumatic blowback boxes.

VFC makes them for Umarex, they seem pretty good. Mechanical 3 round burst, too!

the vfc is a full proprietary gearbox to get the mechanical burst fire.. neat system but there's guaranteed no replacement parts for it if you break something or lose one of those tiny springs if you are messing around with the gearbox.

I've contacted VFC before and was able to get replacement parts from them on various occasions, shipping was ultra cheap too. Literally any and all stock parts, this includes tiny gearbox springs you should be able to purchase, atleast I was able to during one of my orders.

lolwut?
I'm never sure if you ptw fanboys are trolling or just have no clue on how much it costs to build an AEG. I've built 30+rps r-hopped guns for people, parts and labor included for 400 bucks on 200 dollar guns. If you only do air seal and not high rate of fire/mosfet, it can be done for under 150 with parts and labor.

If the two choices were
1) G&G TGM Toptech A5 2) Umarex H&K MP5 A5 by VFC Which one wins out for reliability, performance out of the box, overall feel?

BASICS: $300-400 base gun, G&G, CA, etc $260 CYMA $120-150 prommy barrel, rubber, R hop, labour for job includes shipping. OPTIONS Additional: $5 Milspec wire $50-100 Fancy mosfets, trigger computers etc depends on brand $50-75 Quality brand name motor Tienly etc ??$50 kanzen Bearings $20-60 Lonex, supercore, prometheus, pick one piston $50-130 SHS, Lonex, Siegetekreplacement gearset Guntech Fees $50-150 2 hrs time. . You could do a broxa and upgraded it like you said with a motor, lube, shim, ER hop on a stock barrel and be g2g. But if you want a Quality metal MP5 you're looking at probably 700-800 for a gun plus upgrades, time etc. Not a PTW Fanboy yet, just tired of opening guns. |

Cost of PTW motor = cost of entire set of GOOD AEG internals.
