I got curious and built a concept holder.
Kinda neat.
What did you use to assemble your holder?

Cellphone gun mount

Wire coat hanger twisted into a U shape to fit into plastic tubes from a hobby shop. The ends of the U have notches cut by a Dremel. Two pulling springs hooked into the coat hanger pull it down into the plastic tubes. The plastic tubes are epoxied to a plastic base, which is in turn epoxied to a cheap toy weaver scope mount. Foam tape top and bottom cushions the grip.
I got the idea from a cell camera tripod I saw on Facebook's Wish. Next time I'll just buy the cell camera mount and cut an old scope ring for the base.

I was speaking more of the recoil of real steel. Replica optics can handle being droped, but will literally explode on a high power rifle

I see. I gave up real steel for Airsoft, lol. Now I've a one-track mind.

That'd be fun to good around with the FLIR attachment for an iPhone with. I don't plan on getting the flir for iPhone though unless I get into home inspecting.

A cheap camcorder with night vision would be fun to strap on a gun too, though may be hard to aim
