This is driven by the US adoption of multicam as their uniform pattern. The standard multicam will be the general pattern worn as the standard uniform. Enabling deployment to most terrains and environments without the wearer being in "wrong camouflage " terrain specific multicam patterns designed for temperate, tropical, arid, and alpine environments will principally be deployed by SF. If you have been watching the US army tie itself in knots over the past 4 years regarding the replacement of UCP, none of this is a surprise. The army requirement for both a standard muliterrain pattern for general issue and terrain specific variants of the same pattern has been defined from the start. When it became clear that multicam was the defacto winner in the pattern selection race, it was just a matter of time till they revealed the variants.

I start to laugh when it is again the US government requires these variants of multi-cam. If they spend all these effort, money and time on solving their internal, political and economic problems, the world should be a much better place, which would save them from making so many "innovative" military items to keep themselves safe.

Keep in mind, clothing millions of soldiers creates jobs
Whether or not those jobs are created within the country is another matter lol |

I've been looking into new indoor clothing for a while now, and while coveralls are way convenient and much cheaper than TRUs, that MC Black looks baller as hell.
I really really shouldn't buy this stuff but what the hell. |

Come one now, Crye Precision is trying to figure out why the fk ATACS is selling and in two godamn colours. MC is more effective and more economic.
Mad Consumerism is what drives the Military industry. Its not "Do we need it? -- Its Can we buy it?" If Crye doesn't bring a new dog to the show he's not gonna win. It doesn't have to be a better dog just a different one. |

Besides these are just Crye's entries to the US mil contest, they didn't make them just for the fun of it. I still think the black is lame, however the alpine, tropical and arid variant do seem interesting.

I agree but in Mil circles its a house hold name. Multicam is crazy better but ATACs is newer. Now everyone will be discussing MC variants. and for Crye that's a job well done.

Hating aside, I am curious to see the Alpine version. I admit I am a bit of a sucker for a good winter camo pattern....even though I hate winter LOL!
Be good to have an option that is not solid white, not german and a bit more available then the Danish stuff...assuming it'll be available that is. |

Multicam was designed to be a jack of all trade's and really a master of few.
It the dark green of the MB fields Cadpat works far better, in The dead grasslands Arid works way better. But MC allows a person to transition between the two fairly well. These pattern's are based for operations where a "Miulti" pattern is not needed. The black look's like it would work very well for night ops.

It just seems to me that they are shooting themselves in the foot a little bit, kinda knocking their own brand. 'Hey, multicam is a multi environment camo that will suit just about all your needs! Look how well it blends in with a huge variety of environments! Well actually no, if you want to blend in your gonna need one of these four other patterns......lulz'
I'm no marketing expert but if they stayed on message with 'one pattern - all environments, the only gear you will need' they could probably still smoke the competition. All this jive talk about ATACS but where is it exactly? Some airsofters and paintballers? Compare that to the huge mil/le/gov/foreign contracts for multicam and it's a joke. Just my 2 cents. I still want to see more though, I wont lie |
