I'm all for good publicity related to the sport, just not a fan of how this kid operated his "event" pick a more secluded spot, fuck knows we have lots of them in the area. This is the most used public space in Uxbridge and happens to be on a very residential and busy street.
There is are political reasons that this event is allowed and 12 year olds which are under age are allowed to do it. Police kills a 12 year and the airsoft community pays for it.

Remember the general public are basically stupid. Anti-gun groups told the public that anyone can walk into a gun store an buy a gun, but didn't say a FAC was needed for the purchase. The public paniced. Also, during the gun law crisis, anti-gun groups told people if the government take away all the guns from gun owners, Canada will rid crime.

Exactly, which is why this kid should run his legal "airsoft" game every weekend.

The laws dealing with replica weapons and airsoft/pellet guns have nothing to
do with safety, I played "war" all over my neighborhood in clear view of everyone, was never shot by police, hell never even seen police.

the laws we have now, which rid children the horrors of make believe violence,
sole purpose is to condition them to not be gun owners when they are older,
It's a delayed gun grab scheme plain and freaking simple.

The fact that alot of the posters in this thread react negatively to the kids legal
Council approved, for charity game, makes me shake my head.

There is a FB group about airsoft and this exact same topic was brought up

here is a quote from another user

"The airsoft community in Canada has developed a very paranoid attitude. Much of this is due to a murky concept of self preservation. The idea is that if airsoft is brought into public light it will be seen as negative and therefore should remain clandestine and policed in order to keep a low profile. I think the community should remain open and friendly, but keep games professional and adhere to a few rules of common sense. Jumping on every piece of news which features airsoft and immediately criticizing it to pieces is not doing anyone favours. This paints airsoft in a very positive light and continued stories like this will help gradually open public acceptance"

My issues are with the description of airsoft guns shooting very low fps and using soft ammo. I don't know, maybe there are 'soft' airsoft kit somewhere in the country, I've just never seen them. It seemed to me disingenuous is all. Idc if a kids has a sanctioned game if everything's on the up & up, safety gear's used, etc. no, we don't need any black eyes on our sport.

So your complaining the reporter understated the power of airsoft guns?
Really? Usually It's the other way around and overstating the power/or
Wrong make/model or something along the lines of to incite fear.
