he's not selling it. I doubt anyone would care about intellectual property infringement for a one off, if you did you'd have hollywood going after every single cosplayer out there that's making a DIY costume.

I don't know if you've ever worn an IOTV or defender for the length of a game but my LE vest in the summer is stupidly hot and heavy after a while. A defender style vest is going to be much worse than that. Have you tried anything on? you're in ajax, you're not far from hero army you could go there and try some vests and plate carriers on and walk around the store to see how you like it before spending time to make one. Condor stuff isnt' the greatest but it's also not that terribly expensive and it will last a couple years or more. Real gear will double that price. I just bought a real gear rig that's worth probably 500 bucks total in pouches and other bits. The condor rig I bought for my p90 I paid maybe 300-350

Well...I kinda...Haven started yet.
I plan to make one without velcro, straps or any fancy things. All the test is going to be is one layer of some fabric i find in my basement or something. Basically just to test the fit and see if anything needs changing. If you have any tips, let me know! Wulfle |

Yeah. Thats the thing i was trying to get at. I don't want to spend a lot of money.
Also. It'll be a part of me. no one else will have this vest. I will be mine and mine alone. |

Post up a photo of the type of rig you are looking to duplicate, be a lot easier then general references. |

Okay PICTURE!!! This is a few references to the platecarriers that I think would be both, easy and fun to make. |

Don't neglect the hardware in your hunt for pieces. Buckles and straps to support the vest. Closures for the pouches, elastic cord and locks, Velcro maybe too.
If you get your rig built for $40, but loose $200 worth of mags in the first game you've erased your savings.

Okay! So I finally cleared enough time to make the prototype and I was looking for my materials bin but I couldn't find anything.
Thats when I remembered "you don't need this. just give it away! you'll never use it!" my brain said. "Yeah" I replied! So i threw it all out. OFF TO FABRICLAND! |

What if you didn't find a single gun out there you liked, would you just make one from scratch???

Hi,
not to be rude but i had a feeling this is where this project was going from the beginning. Sometimes it's just worth waiting to get enough budget to buy something good. Airsoft is expensive, if you don't have enough money to buy a vest, how are you going to buy the bb's and other stuff? |
