I had to wait a lot for them to be open in the office when I brought stuff from them, too, since they close at 3:30 pm PST.
Other than that, they are really nice.

Over the years I've ordered RS wood and plastic furniture including Tapco tacticool stuff, PSO scope, skeleton stock, dust covers. gas tubes and so on. Everything went through. Some parts took time to clear customs but everything was fine at the end. Hell, spent 66mm LAW tube went through just fine

So it sounds like I could build a realistic copy of the East German AK, now I know all these parts are legal. Anyone have experience with the GHK AKM gas rifle? Is it a reliable gun? My plan is to buy one for a base instead of the WE I mentioned earlier.

Below is a pic of the East German MPi-KM rifle. Gotta love that stock.

There is a review of GHK AKM in review section. From the looks of it GHK is the best airsoft AK maker right now. I used these guys back in the day. They have tons of AK related stuff. http://www.k-var.com

I recently ordered FAL furniture there... it cleared customs so you should be good to go!

I need to get a AK47 (not AKM) muzzle brake, probably from them as well...

No, but remember since that is for a prohibited firearm (according to Canadian law), you might be required to provide proof you have a law abiding reason to own it.

The import of parts for prohibited firearms may require proof that the importer is a ‘grand-fathered’ owner of the firearms in question and that the imported parts are to maintain the prohibited firearm in a safe condition.
A statement to the effect you'll be using it on your toy airsoft gun might work, but the regulations are there and in place if customs decides to be picky.

I imported handguards for AK74 and for MPI-KMS-72 3 times and never got any problem.

The problem, is that I haven't ordered my "toy airsoft gun" yet. I suppose I could tell them if they come knocking that the parts are for my paintball Type 56 AK. I ordered the items two weeks ago and still haven't got them. Maybe they did get seized?

Customs can take forever with gun parts. It's a waiting game don't panic yet. and I've never personally had a problem with gun parts from anywhere in the world, including my Rifle Grenade adaptor for my SAI M1A.

It's more of a FYI, to remember that especially since many of the airsoft rifles we use are on the prohibited list, that it's good to have a valid reason if they ask. Because as the link shows they "may require" they wont "always require".

And don't lie to them, say it's for airsoft. They'll know it's not for paintball any ways, there is no sense in trying to dumb things down which will confuse them more.

We do have to remember that these CBSA agents are not our enemies, they're just doing their jobs to keep our nation safe. While gun laws in Canada are ridiculous it isn't the CBSA's fault.

And thanks for the advice, as you may have realized I know very little about these matters (thus I started this thread). I'll order the GHK AKM in a day or so.

Your right they are not, which is why being helpful when they ask questions is a good thing. And knowing what to answer when they start asking questions to make them happy is important.
