The MK23 is a big. Big in the " nearly the same size as a carbine" range once you have the can and LAM on on.
The plain USP squares up just about level with a 226. The Tactical is a hair bigger than the 226. For brands of a USP KWA/KSC is essentially the same for parts and function. The KSC ones in the past had nicer trades. KWA has ones with trades for 2011 but there still may be some Umarex marks on there too that don't belong.

EDIT: The KWA usp with trades is a umarex rebrand. Some trades belong...others don't. |

You could also go for an SMG as a sidearm. The KWA M93R isnt much bigger than a regular M9 and can fit in a holster. It even shoots 3 round bursts!
You can also get a shoulder or leg holster for an MP7, which is a little bigger but still much smaller than other SMGs or rifles

I've carried a MP7 as a sidearm when I had my SAW. Single point sling though, no holster.

I have about 6 Glocks(KSC/KWA) I like them they are a great work horse and I havent had mine go down in a game,BUT I just picked up a KSC/KWA USP Compact sys.7 and love it! Same size as the G19 and so far seems built just as well. Or you could look at a Magpul FPG for a back up,I haven't gamed mine Yet!

That luger and revolver are pretty awesome. I was looking at a Wingun revolver. A little over-the-top maybe, but I like the realism. Still, reloading one bullet at a time isn't practical. The KSC USP and SOCOM both look like good bets (I like the two-tone USP with the black and green) though. Good advice all around! As for an SMG, I do like that idea, but, I'm just starting out, so it's not really in my budget yet. I'll also dig around for that 'Post you pistol' thread and take a look there. Thanks for the input everyone!

I picked up a usp from pro bass in vaughan and its been with me for 3 years now, no blowback but it fights with the big boys just fine. Paid 70$ and never expected much but it has far exceded my expectations of it. Had a glock , very comfortable in its feel and sexy as hell.

Above every other suggestion, go someplace where you can hold different types of pistols. Find one that fits in your hand. How it looks is small comfort if you find it a pain in the ass to hold, right? Personally, I find my Glock 17 fits my hand perfectly, super comfortable, and I love it to death and probably wouldn't swing much else. Also like my M9, but the Glock trumps it for me.
Get out to a game with an AVer, kill two birds with one stone, and be friendly. In my experience, guys are all too happy to show off their toys. Find one that's comfortable, and then start looking for a good version/manufacturer of that model on here. |

I personally love the 1911, respect the M9 and think Glocks have no soul. The Five SeveN is a very nice pistol and new on the market, but if you want metal that wouldn't be for you since the real steel isn't metal and thus neither would any of the airsoft models. You'll have a similar problem with Glocks since only the slides are metal on those.
I understand that real steel revolver speed loaders work with most airsoft revolvers and handily solve the whole one bullet at a time problem.

Also, I suppose being 'full metal' isn't really a requirement, I just like guns to have a solid weight to them, and not break easily. As long as the gun is comfortable and durable, it shouldn't be an issue. |
