Thanks

Thanks to all of you who shared your thoughts.

We've included many of your comments in our report. There's still a lot more work for us to do before we can submit it.

when it comes to paintball, theres 2 kinds of grenades we use, first is one that is technicly banned in Canada (though its protected by the grandfather law)

it uses a .22 blank and is supposed to work on a 3 - 5 second delay. This grenade was dodgy at best sometimes it had a 10 -20 second delay and sometimes 0 - 1 seconds. They whole bottom half of it explodes out. These ones are not reusable.
The second grenade we use we get from our local airsoft store. Although because of customs they are getting in very low supply of them.

heres a link to a write up

Survey Making Airsoft Grenades? Design Tips, Reuseable grenade concept

Thanks for the advice everyone,

The Google forum was out of sync and its introduction had to be corrected.

Moreover, at most 200 bbs are ejected; each of which can leave at 200 ft/s. According to Mechanical engineering students working with us, these specifications can be respected by using a motor and a gear system, which would accelerate the contents without moving the grenade shell.

Thanks for your time,

Update:

Thank you everyone for the amazing feedback, it helped our team a bunch!

Unfortunately, we were unable to stream live due to technical difficulties.

Nevertheless, we have a beta prototype. We hope to address all your concerns with a demonstration.

More information will follow in early May, following university final examinations.

Something you could try is have a reservoir with pressurized gas above a liquid. When the gas escapes, it creates an area of low pressure above the liquid, vaporizing it. Use something like water, and I think it should work. You won't get wet because it's vapor rather than spray.

Another idea, use a spandrel with channels for bb's. Spin at a few thousand rpm. depending on rpm and radius, you can get a pretty good speed on the bb's.

Public Release

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your patience,

A physical prototype is assembled. Unfortunately, a video demonstration is unavailable. Furthermore, a commercial launch of the grenade is highly unlikely, since all team members have moved on to other challenges.

Nevertheless, all survey results and market analysis will be made publicly available, which should help you in your development, if requested in this thread.

Again, I thank you for your patience, for your ideas, and for all your insightful feedback.

Truly,
ilia
