hi everyone. Soo this is what i noticed. turok my man, you state in the first post that you are using .25s.
For proper testing you shoud be using 20s.
I have done ALOT of chrono testing.. No really alot. goto to you tube and search for
"chrono and cans" you'll get the idea. ANy who
you will get a sick fps difference between wts (as we all know)
i usually use 10 .20s and the 6 or 8 of everything else
on my m733 with GB upgrades shoots 462 FPS on .12, 351 FPS on .2,
299 FPS on .25 (a 50 FPS drop) and 293 FPS on .28.
so that said your FPS is about right.
head back to Velocity with a fist full of .20s and go again Sir. you will be surprized.
Im using a stock TM cylinder, ARS Mask piston head & high spin bearing spring guide, Modify Cylinder head & 120 Spring through a
Guarder clear, stock hopup with Shredder down a 455mm 604 Sys*temA TBB.
hell i save you a search

Your setup is completely different than mine, so u can not equate your results to my gun. My gun has been completely tuned up with Prometheus upgrades, and Im achieving MUCH lower FPS than what it should be. Think about it, an MS135 spring firing at 350fps? an MS120 firing at 320fps with 0.25? that is extremely low given the rating of the spring.

not when you use .25s, its a 50 FPS jump from .25s to .20s.
and yes on yours it should be substancially faster.
I have checked few different spring charts and yes you should be up around 370 with the 120.
personally untill you chrono with .2s you cant compair what you should be shooting.
with using .25s you are confusing the issue before it starts.
I stand by my rechrono with .2 then post the results.
good luck Sir

If you do the conversions his gun is still shooting low.

350 on a .25 BB is 1.42 Joules, which in .20 terms is 391 FPS, a M135 giving 391 FPS is very low. It should be about 420-440 FPS on the higher end for his setup.

320 on .25 is 1.19 Joules, which in .20 terms is 358 FPS..
120 should be giving 380 at the very minimum, closer to 400.

Re-chronoing with .20 BB's wont change the results at all unless he has a gas rifle.

And Scooter, it may just be the way the camera picked up the audio, but your gun sounds like the trigger post is about to break on you.

ya that's pretty low still... AMOS is right you should at least be getting 420 FPS minimum with m135 Spring and your m120 is darn low.

well at least we are all in agreement He is still shooting low of this there is no doubt.

Thanks Amos, im off to Google and ASC search for the elusive trigger post issue.
Blew the tabs on the upper the other night. so my M4 is down till my Metal body arrives

OK trigger posst issue sounds like a complete Pain in the butt.
I found a thread on how to fix it with a Wood screw and a dremel.
Thanks for the Heads UP Amos.

On a side note I must Bow my head in shame, Upon compairison the Promethius 120 and the modify 120 have a substancial difference in power out put.
So although my ideal was correct you should be well above what i though would have been par.
Sorry For a little blind reading and fast typing

NO worries man.. If u want a really good gearbox with a steel trigger post, consider getting the G&P 8mm gearbox, its not expensive at all... but most of all, ull have complete confidence in this gearbox because it has been recommended by Amos

I have a line on a guarder reinforced 6mm i was working on.
This Might help. I was working on a M4 with a NON ported Piston head.
It was getting serious blow by, I removed the oring and put a small layer of Oring lube in the channel and reinstalled the oring, brought it up to Spec on the first shot.
With that Piston head you shouldnt have this issue but it might help.
also after a shot or 2, any excess will be forced past the Oring (due to air through the ports) which will help the seal and lube the Cylinder.

I'd advise against a guarder box... They're better than most china clone boxes... but they're still "meh" for the price.

G&P has the best product for the price right now

AND G&P is (as far as I know) the only company with a thread in trigger post... If it wears out or breaks... get a new one and thread it in!

So after lots of testing, I finally found why my FPS is soo low. Based on my experience, let me get one thing straight-- Prometheus springs are complete crap and are inconsistent. I had a MS110 which was waay stiffer than MS120. I ended up buying a Modify MS120 spring. Im beginning to really like Modify components as the material is more sturdy (fire selector and tappet plate), much thicker, and waay cheaper. The Modify fire selector and tappet plate I got definitely surpasses the ones made by Prometheus.

Prometheus MS110 with 0.20g / 0.25g bastards

352 / 353
363 / 324
356 / 330
357 / 325
356 / 325
359 / 324
357 / 325
356 / 326
358 / 329
361 / 356

Prometheus MS120 with 0.25g bastards

324
322
321
310
326

Modify MS120 with 0.20g / 0.25g bastards

408 / 362
416 / 365
409 / 366
415 / 372
415 / 370
413 / 371
422 / 368
416 / 376
379 / 372
379 / 371
377 / 370
379 / 378
380 / 379

So as you can tell from my results, the Modify MS120, really pushed the FPS alot. Im thinking about getting a Modify MS110 as the FPS on my gun is too hot at the moment.

cool thanks T great info
I have tried a few different springs myself and it really appears the the modify springs have the better bang for the buck.

I'd say go with Modify if you want most bang for your buck. I've switched to most of not all Modify parts.
