I have the A&K M249 MK1 2010 version and it is awsome. I would never consider parting ways with it. Best idea ever... As for the weight... honestly its only 15lbs...it comes with a carrying handle.... GO TO THE GYM if you cant hold 15lbs...
Hell, im far from a big guy but come on... its a fucking machine gun! enough said

I just picked up a used A&K M249 Para, initially thought it would just be a heavier AEG and almost thought it would be a waste of money....until I fired it. It just seems louder and more bad ass than any of my other AEG's and you don't feel like a tool yelling get some like you would with a P90. As long as you understand the role of a support gunner (which you obviously do) you will enjoy it greatly.

Give it another year or two and GBBMGs will be in production. Imagine a box mag gas capacity? *drool*

Funny thing is that half our tents flooded due to the MASSIVE amounts of rain that weekend. It was also happened to be the coldest weekend in spring that year and I of course did not pack enough warm clothes. I didn't even get a chance to fire the damn thing Though I was bestowed the honour of counting and organizing the blank rounds!

It's the Escort system. So yes I would think it has pretty substantial blowback action.
