modify is a great if you are going to replace the air chamber.
for sorbo pad use on the piston head it is common that the sector gear won't engage the first tooth of the piston properly and can bind since it is moved back several millimeters. filing down the first tooth of the piston will resolve this. (first tooth nearest the rear of the piston body no the one near the metal tooth) |

I had a similar issue with a systema Gearbox, the piston needed to be pushed in faster so it would build a pressure, but was still loosing some air. Tried a G&G stock cylinder I had around, and the air seal is much better.
I tought sorbo's were meant to be sticked to cylinder head instead of piston, it then adds to the piston's weight and changes all the inertie (Don't know if it is spelled like that in english). |

Is it even worth using the sorbo pad for the hassle of it? since im pretty sure its why i broke the metal gear..
so what do i need to fix this? is it worth just buying the modify cylinder set? |

personally, I've tried and had success with the following: MASK Pro Cylinder Head V2 $25 MASK Sorbo Piston Head with Bearing - New Version $29 Modify Enhanced Cylinder (you determine type depending on IB length) $15 Modify Polycarbonate Piston - Full Teeth $20 Modify Nozzle (you choose type) $9 It's a bit more than the Modify kit but I prefer the ARS (MASK) cylinder head and Piston head more than the modify one. |

The gun is a tm mp5 ras V2 mech box, repalced mech to a black reinforced one after finding a crack in mine
Well i already have a modify nozzle lol! The IB lengeth is 363mm 6.04 mad bull with a gaurder clear hopup rubber. Spring: PDI170 (i believe) Is it better to just buy a modify set or to buy all the parts separately as stated above I added up the ones you said above and its $89.00 without the nozzle (which i already have) so only 15$ more not a huge deal.. is it worth it to replace all those parts? Would i need anything else? From the pics would i need a new sector gear or is it still fine.. Should i even be using the sorbo? I just threw it on to make it a bit quieter.. atleast that was the intention -------------------------------------- Side question Will this HopUP work for a TM MK23, I have one in the mail along with a pdi tight bore, so mind as well put in a fresh hop up while i swap the barrel, also is the nineball air seal worth it or just a waste of money? I plan on running Y&P Mags on propane Last edited by shiftline; April 5th, 2010 at 17:24.. |

As mentioned before, if you use both, just remember to file down the first tooth on the piston as the sector gear has a hard time engaging and tends to bind.if you spin your gears with the piston in but take the tappet plant and spring out, you should see what I mean. |

Well the sorbo i bough it probably usless now if i order the mentioned items above.
Is it worth replacing it all over just buying a new piston? And with the MASK Pro Cylinder Head V2 and MASK Sorbo Piston Head with Bearing Will i still need to file down the first tooth on the new modify piston ? it looks like there is small sorbos already on the piston/cyl head Last edited by shiftline; April 5th, 2010 at 17:54.. |

they both come with the sorbo pad/tablet.
in my experience it is easier to get a new one then try reuse the old one. there is a specific adhesive ARS recommends to prevent the sorbo pad from falling off. personally I'd replace it all. easier and eliminates stock/inferior parts from what I'm assuming is a JG box. you don't have to get both. you could just get the MASK cylinder head and the modify piston head. will work just fine. |

Well i gues for only 15$ more then the modify set ill just get it all then it will eliminate any problems and i can get back to the field
Will i need to file down a tooth with that setup above? the mask piston head/cylinder head? Or is there a better combination i should be looking at? |

if you don't want to file it down, don't bother with the MASK piston or cylinder heads. just stick with the modify kit. if you get the MASK cylinder head, it is recommended to file but you can also do a simple check prior to filing by what I posted above.

I can't tell you what to buy but the following works:
MASK piston head + MASK cylinder head Modify piston head + Modify cylinder head Modify piston head + MASK cylinder head the choice is yours. the only combination I haven't tried is: MASK piston head + Modify cylinder head |

And all of those will work no problem with the Modify Enhanced Cylinder (300mm-450mm)
Also is there any real difference in that cyl vs the stock one? Is there anything else i should be upgrading or changing while im at it? Last edited by shiftline; April 5th, 2010 at 20:27.. |

... Wait, you put a sorbo pad on the piston head?
WELL THERE'S YOUR PROBLEM! It goes on the cylinder head. Last edited by Amos; April 5th, 2010 at 23:36.. |
