Is that Magwell from Redwolf or direct from ProG4?

Yeah where can I get a magwell like that. Black ones aren't too easy to come by.

I have some on the way.

Can get with silver groove cut in the side (for style... it looks good) with STI markings (on the bottom) or blank with no groove and no markings. Can also get custom markings.

Sweet! Is that the Airsoft Surgeon hammer on that?

PS, would definitely buy one with some Strayer Voight insignia, or something along those lines.

Yes, that's AS hammer. I can also get that for you. (sorry, wasn't ignoring your PM. Just catching up on a huge load of PMs right now and seeing new posts - been busy with work lately.)

Sorry for the threadjack, RM.

btw, I paid for your custom parts today. Expect 30 day delivery time. Looks like you'll have some new presents under the tree from SantaILLusion.

Beautiful.. Oh and no worries, I know how it is. You have been busy for the past few weeks. This can get to be a crazy time of year for most.

sweet, thats good to hear....

I got the magwell direct from ProG4....I ordered that before I got around to check with you. They ended up delaying around 2 weeks since they were out of stock...

Sweet looking gun. I was thinking about one of those Docter sights for my Hicapa as well. Looks really good on there.

Same, I think it's easier to sight in if you had the sight rail attached to the frame, than to buy the Shooter Design Base sight for Doctor sights. Why? Having the SD base on the rear sight, and trying to aim is almost as aiming with regular sights.

The sight rail would look big, but the SD rear sight base would look simple.

So are you saying it's good, or bad or what? Kinda contradicting there.
Or maybe pros and cons of both?

I think he is saying that if you want to use a RDS on the pistol you might as well get a fixed sight mount as opposed to mounting the RDS on the rear sight which will still move with the slide. I think ILLusion talked about that on his build thread, about how its more difficult to get the advantage of the RDS on the followup shot.

It definitely makes initial target acquisition faster than a frame mounted scope base, but double-tapping with a sight mounted to the slide is a bit harder.

I've only had my SD RDS sight base fit one slide properly (i.e. no slop or wiggle) so far.

It's not too bad for acquiring a sight picture...and following up for doubles or triples. But it does take some getting used to since the dot seems to "jump" around. It also seems to float in "nothing-ness", in that there aren't any reference points to line things up. With a RDS on a rifle, the 3rd contact point is the stock in your shoulder...no such thing with a pistol and it takes quite a bit of getting used to.

Put it this way...I've tried the SD base/docter sight out on three builds...and now it's sitting in the parts bin.

If I put optics on my pistol...I'm going for a side mount with an integrated aimpoint ring. I'm struggling with putting optics on at all...95+% of the time I don't even remember looking at my iron sights, and then there's the long/aimed shots where the comfort/familiarity of iron sights (fiber optic fronts) is really nice. Optics are probably going to f*ck me up for a while until I adjust.
