Some exceptions can be made for 16+, host's discretion, but generally no.

Also, there's no such thing as an airsoft tournament.

The general consensus is that a person should be over the age of 18 to play and own.
The reason being 18 is legal age that one is considered an adult and can be held responsible to their own actions. Due to nature of airsoft everyone usually sticks to that ideal. Then again there are communities out there that let people under the age of 18 play but those cases are evaluated per situation.

Regardless of age to play, this site and its associated retailers do not support minors getting airsoft guns. If you can find a legitimate place to play (your backyard is not legitimate), you'll need your parents to purchase and own the airsoft guns until you turn 18.

We don't have 'tournies' really. Just bigger events and such.

Depends where you are. Some places are okay with 16, others not so much. Also as stated it's up to the host.

Edit your use profile info to include your location. Your questions are best directed toward the players in your area, not the vast stew we have across the country here.

Some clubs.teams allow 16-17, others are strickly +18. Haven't hear of any allowing under 16.

Ask your local hosts to see the requirements to play.

Tournaments? Only tournaments I know of is in CAPS; practical shooting.

If you're under age don't bother starting airsoft, Paintball instead...I'm only 16 and I own quite a few TM guns not saying it's not fun or anything just saying that Airsoft is sort of a bad thing for the law.

You got it wrong buddy.

If you are underage, check your local fields and local hosts, and upcoming local games hosted on ASC. Required you to sign up with a legal guardian, and depending on your age. If you really are interested in airsoft, save up your pennies till you hit 18. After saving up, you can buy yourself a decent gun after being age verified.

And dude... airsoft is not a bad thing for the law. It is not illegal, and it is not bad. Depends how you use airsoft guns, which can be a 'bad thing for the law'...
