E90 Semi or Full/Semi??

Hi!

I have an Echo 1 E90 and I'm curious

If you press the trigger not so far on a P90, it will shoot semi. If you press harder it will do full auto.

Is using semi by pressing lightly on full auto mode more battery efficient(saves more battery), than using semi on semi mode?

In regular AEGs pressing full auto quick to only shoot out one bb will be more battery efficient than doing semi.

I would think that has the exact same electrical characteristics, but I could be wrong.

the p90 mechbox is different than other aegs. It doesn't have a selector switch. It has a dual stage trigger so you can't really shoot one round on full auto cycle without starting the semi cycle first. That is it's very difficult to shoot only one round in auto.

Shooting a single shot in full auto isn't more efficient. Shooting in full auto is. The startup surge of power for a single shot whether the gun is set to semi or full is the same. With semi. When firing a sustained full auto burst, the motor is already wound up and doesn't have that startup surge with every BB fired. That only happens on the first shot.

So whether in semi or full, squeezing off a single round has the same effect. It's not determined by what position your fire selector is in or how much to press a 2 stage trigger.

I think it would simply re-engage the sector gear, let's say half-way on the piston. So, your next shot would appear more responsive or "efficient" where it is not really.

We say its more efficient in full auto because the motor does not need to break from a stopped position every shot.

That's like starting a manual transmission car after a stop. You need more time and clutch play when you're on first gear. If you do it "the american way"(quebec expression or maybe elsewhere, which means to do a stop without completly stopping), you can get on second gear, thus starting faster.

Looks like that to me.

Not quite. As explained above, the P90 has a 2 stage trigger. When in semi, you can only depress it about halfway, which makes it fire semi. With the selector in full auto, it really only unlocks the trigger allowing you to pull it all the way. So stage one still gives you semi, but going all the way goes to auto. So squeezing off signle shots with the selector to auto is exactly the same as being in semi.

I thought of an incomplete trigger pull, where current is prematurely cut to the motor.
