In general OD, and Coyote Brown (CB) work with anything. As with khaki. I run khaki, its a mix of green and tan so it works well in most situations and if you want a general vest try to leave cmo out of it until you know which camo works best for you. Most guys here run multicam and marpat/cadpat, I run woodland and tricolor desert. If something seems to catch your eye go for it. No one can really tell you what vest, or rig will be better and if it should be in matching camo or not. When starting something to carry bbs, mags, water, and a radio is great. That said webbing is partially changable but try to get a molle platform if you can afford it since they tend not to come with pouches, but are the most versatile.
