Hi-Capa 5.1/4.3 or Glock (fill in number here)...?
I'm currently looking into a new GBB but I cant decide which gun I want to look into.
The Hi-capas look awesome the way they are, and I've always been a fan of the 1911's look. But some of the Hi-Capas just look way to damn nice to field. I'm looking into the 5.1 and 4.3 cause they're my size, not to big but not to damn tiny like the 3.8. The Glocks on the other hand comes in like 4177813 billion different varieties (exaggerating) but mainly I'm interested in the 17,18 (I love gas eating full auto) and 19. Since these ones are still a bit beefier in size as opposed to the tiny G23. So for the people out there who have these guns which one would you recommend? |

With full auto GBBs, you would need to require alot of mags..
Everyone who owned a TM Hicapa has been very pleased, and a very accurate pistol right out of the box. You cannot go wrong with a TM. There are nice Kimber slides and such for your 1911 taste. TM Hicapas comes with metal frame, ABS plastic grip, and plastic slide. The upgrade for metal slides are everywhere. If you plan to have your own custom built Hicapa, talk to Illusion, he will build a Hicapa for you if you got the cash. Lots of parts for both Hicapa and Glock too. |

There isn't much difference between the 5.1 and 4.3 besides the length of the slide/barrel. I have a 5.1 and its very reliable, its never broken down (with the exception of incorrectly installing upgrades... fixed now ).
I prefer using a 5.1 with a 4.3 magazine. The extra padding sticking out at the bottom just doesn't do it for me. |

Full auto glocks are nice but tend to break down a lot faster due to their select fire. A glock is a glock, and that's all it is. You might be able to add different sights or a different slide but not much will change in terms of its looks and performance. If you want a pistol that is truely customizable, one where you can personify how you want it to look and perform, then get the hi capa. 5.1, because its longer and has full sized safeties and has the beavertail grip.

TM Hicapas are built really nice. They just keep going and going. A swap to a metal slide isn't necessary right away (but it's nice).
4.3 is more combat oriented (single safety, low profile mag release, novak sights, shorter length). The 5.1 is more target oriented (ambi safeties, beaver tail safety, target sights, etc...). Mags are interchangeable. Grip frames are the same. WE's are nice for what they are...you get what you pay for. 4.3 for combat, 5.1 for more precision/accuracy. |

I have both a WE Hicapa 5.1 and a KSC Glock 17. I do like both guns a lot for various reasons.
Of these 2, the Glock is easily my favourite. It's proven itself accurate, reliable, and lightweight with excellent handling. It's my main field gun, and for great reason. Despite its minimal upgrades (metal slide, enhanced recoil spring and tightbore), its proven itself to outrangw many AEGs in the field and has excellent accuracy. The down side is that it can't be pimped out very much. The Hicapa is a nice gun too. It's proven itself quote accurate and reliable too I do find it a bit bulky though and if I was intended to make it a prime gaming gun, I would have went for a 4.3 instead for it's more compact size. The nice part about it is that there are limitless cosmetic upgrade possibilities with this gun should I choose to upgrade it. Either gun is a great choice and is just a matter of personal preference

In real steel terms a glock 23 shoots a .40s&W where as the glock 19 is chambered for a 9mm. The frame and slide are the same size. That said I own a KJW 23 and have had a TM 26 which is the one I think you were thinking was so small. I have a KJ just cause if feels good in my hand and the 26 just wasn't big enough. That and its a TM compatible.
As far as glocks go if you want semi only get a TM G17 if you want full auto get a KSC or KWA 18c. And on a side note. The more it seems you upgrade a hi cappa the more it can screw up. Glocks have only a few things to upgrade Hammer spring, valves, basic GBB stuff. And finally the TM G17 has night sights. Just some stuff to think about. |
