An unbalanced gun, be it front or rear -heavy, makes it more difficult to handle than a balanced gun. In the case of a front heavy gun, at least the non-firing hand can support it.

But when comparing how much the end of the barrel moves while aiming around, lifting to aim, etc, with the butt, its a better idea to have a rear-heavier gun.

You're not a tank turret. Your weapon stays against your shoulder and your arms and torso move. And unbalanced weapon just puts more straight on your wrist.

The part that stays against your shoulder does not swing around, better it be heavy than the front end of the gun. Your wrists will work harder to swing around a heavier front end.

With my AUG, it has a huge buttpad/buttplate that is very comfy in the shoulder, and it just sits there easily. Not straining your arms at all.

You've probably read it (since you're not asking the noobish question on your first few posts) but the FAQ's tell you how to get AV'ed. Once you've done that it's a matter of waiting till one pop's up in the classifieds and snatching it up.

Yes, yes they do
To add to what Brian said earlier, the STAR L85 is built like a brick shithouse, solid as fuck. Just be ready to do a pretty good stripping if you need to clear the barrel. That said, the G&G/Army version is also pretty solid, plus it has a much easier takedown then the STAR. The ICS though...I haven't used one yet...

DiamondSea- the so-called chinese clone is apparently (according to 2nd hand information from the net down with a guy in Auckland owning one) based on the V1, but uses standard V2/V3 gears. Apparently ditto with the piston too. Unsure about the motor though.
