p99 mag not sliding out

well my p99 mag isnt sliding out anymore as smoothly as it was

when i push the button to release it, i have to pull it out rather than letting
it slide out

i took it out and saw some rust so i used WD-40 to get rid of it (i hope it doesnt doing anything bad to the gun)

but still it doesnt slide in and out as it used to

if anyone can help that would be nice

How you managed to get rust on it is beyond me but try WD-40 again but if that fails either A: Try to sand it off and paint or do something to it to make up for the little blotch, or B: Just buy a new one.

Sand it, and what kind of gas are you using in it? Maybe the rust is from the type of gas you are using or water managed to get in there..

Check that the roll pins that hold the base of the mag have not been displaced. If they are, knock them back in line.

You should not be using WD40 on airsoft guns, it is corrosive to the Orings and will cause them to wear and leak. If you HAVE to use WD40, strip the mags, remove the orings, spray it down with WD40: scrub it clean, rinse the whole thing out with WATER, relube with 100% silicon lubricant, relube orings, put orings back in the mags, gas them to check for leaks.

At least, that's what I would do if I got some rusty mags. :|
