Gemtech G5 questions

I've just a few questions for anyone who owns or has used one, either the Madbull, King Arms, or GB-Tech/VFC replicas:

Specific to the Madbull one, exactly how much clearance behind the prongs does the silencer need to be fitted? I noticed the prongs on the Madbull flash hider are flush with the rear, so if I were to mount it to something of larger diameter, for example, a sniper rifle bull barrel via adapter, would the prongs end up screwing flush against the adapter such that the silencer won't fit over them anymore? They look like they were designed with an armalite-diameter barrel behind the flash hider to provide clearance, but if I'm mounting it to something much wider, it would probably obstruct the prongs, no?

As for the King Arms SP90 one, naturally designed after the P90 flash hider, does the slant on the front of the flash hider cause any problems with mounting it upside-down, or mounting a Madbull G5 on the SP90 flash hider?

Lastly and probably most importantly, does anyone know where I can get a 14mm CW/positive G5 compatible flash hider? All I can find are 14mm CCW/negative ones.

the problem of a wider diameter outer barrel rising above the inner diameter of the G5 is no problem. Run to your local hardware shop and pick up a bunch of, or if you have them at home, washers. Put enough space in washers behind the flash hider to compensate for the distance the G5 must travel backwards after it contacts the prongs when mounting it. Problem solved.

I dunno about the KA Gemtech, but the Madbull one is heavy as shit. makes whatever it is very front-heavy, and the problem of CW/CWW... You cant make use of an adapter? I know someone produces them, I think KA. Theyre on redwolf. Go from whatever thread you have to whatever thread you need. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesnt come loose.

And my MB G5 flash hider likes to come loose. gotta tighten the allen key every now and then, you can not use the allen key just screw it on as far as itll go, but it makes mounting it quickly tougher yknow. usually just, trades on the G5 straight down, pump back, turn 90 degrees counterclockwise, done. Without it properly aligned i guess youd just have to get used to what angle to start the process at.

Do you know if there's any way to lighten it? I intend to use it interchangeably on a pistol and a sniper rifle. There's no problem at all with the sniper rifle, but on the pistol, it may be less ideal.

This is actually the reason I wanted a CW flash hider - it's going on a TM Mk23, the only adapter for which (that I can find anyways) is 16mm to 14mm CW. Now, a single adapter which is threaded almost completely into a flash hider I can handle, but adding another adapter... That's just barely beyond "as short as possible" for me.

Actually, since the flash hider has the grub screw in there, would it be practical to grind the threads out from the inside of it until it fit over the 16mm threads, then red locktite it on or something?

Just another quick one, does the G5 silence as effectively as other silencers of similar length? I imagine the QD mechanism takes up a fair amount of space that would otherwise be foam.

You can use o-rings as spacers as well. They're black, and will allow you to compress them to get the position of the hider just right.
