Freedom Art
Recently I've been looking at stuff from Freedom Art for TM Hi-CAPA 4.3
I was wonderin stuff like this http://www.gun-freedom-art.com/hi45custum/hi45acd.html make it through the border? (note not the entire gun, just the lower body, and the compensaitor) And I imagin pistol slides will not make it through right? Thanks |

Pistol slides arn't restricted... But they get confiscated from time to time.
The compensitor will make it... Lower body will most likely not. Edit: ... If the lower body looks like that... I don't see any reason for it not to make it.. It just looks like a rail... |

well its technically a restricted item...but 2011 is an oddity when it comes to frame.....
you could try to push your luck...but no guarantees... My hi-capa has a freedom art mid-frame(bought locally from Illusion). They are nice, but they don't fit and cycle 100% out of the box and I ended up have to mess around with it a bit to work. And with my aftermarket sear and hammer combo I also don't have a working thumb safety(if I transplant everything back to the stock frame it works). So they can be a bit of a project if you wanna go their route. Their product are also unique in that no one else does those parts, so you are stuck with them if you want to built those kind of pistols. Shooters Design makes Hi-Capa frame too, and they come with proper trades as you would find on a SVI/STI gun, and I've heard they are true "drop-in" installation. But they costs more, and like FA the importation would be difficult. They also don't make railed frame. Last edited by RacingManiac; April 9th, 2008 at 17:47.. |

Yeah thats the one that inspired me to make one like that but with longer mid frame and compensaitor *donno just really love long pistols* never paid any attention to the gun before since I was more of a USP guy. It looks like it will be long before i can start tho... Ken is having trouble bring in guns, and local age varification guy (Gish) is only doing it at a game (I think thats the case, havn't heard back from him yet) So I can't access the buy and sell section. So Illusion can bring stuff like that in? or is it hit and miss kinda thing? Thanks |

I think he used to get it through A&A for restricted item, but now I don't think any store does that anymore(Shootsoft maybe?). Though I supposed you can always try to ask those folks in the classified section once you get age verified. It seems there are some people with channel of getting stuff in, but ATM mostly guns but no parts....He still have one FA kit in stock, though not the one pictured but closer to Endymion's style...

That kit is just the mid-frame, not the entire lower portion of the gun.
On 2011 type pistols like this, the mid-frame is what carries the registration number and would be the prohibited part. I've checked and confirmed this with both customs as well as my local Chief Firearms Officer. |
