It all depends on your style of play. If your playing a lot of CQB a grenade might be cool, or if you are defending an objective outdoors a clay might work quite nicely.
Just like choosing your rifles, its a personal decision. If your interested in grenades though, wait for AI's Tornados.

From what I understand the AI Tornadoes aren't the best for outdoor games because the grenade can't spin to release the bbs in multiple directions if it gets stuck in grass. Please excuse me and correct me if I am wrong.
But I have been on the receiving end of them during an indoor game. Man, there are bbs everywhere. It's nuts. I am definitely buying some when they come out.

Also sucks to have to go find the grenade after you threw it, or lose a $100 peice of gear. Is why I (and many others) prefer the "Fire And Forget" grenades, the ones you throw and they go boom, and you move on to finding more kills. And claymores are pretty useless, but you can catch a couple dumb players with them, so I guess they aren't that bad.

Heh, I remeber there was this one time someone accidentally ble up a game admin with a fire and forget claymore. Mmmm not like Im admitting that I was the one who pushed the button that is.
