Brand New to the boards!
Hey everyone!
I'm brand new to the forums and looking into getting into Airsoft. I'm going to be honest, I don't turn 18 for another 12 or so days, but I wanted to ensure that this is the sport for me before I go out and get age verified and drop a lot of money into equipment and stuff. So far I've found the answers to all of my problems except for one. The first and most important is that since I'll be entering a time when life gets pretty stupid with university I won't be able to go and check out many events or go to play outside of my immediate area. Since there are no fields in town I can't really play anywhere there. However my friend owns a pretty big piece of land outside of town (he owns it himself) that is completely closed in with a nice cleared area that we think would be perfect to play air soft in. at the very least we can run down to do some target practice. My question being, is it alright to play on his property, as long as he consents to it, and it isn't visible from the highway. I know the importance of getting age verified, and being in the Sault Ste. Marie area (I hear Franchise quit airsoft) I might have to make a little trip to get verified, but when I decide I'm ready I'll go out and get that done. Thanks, and hopefully I'll see some of you at an event sometime! -Malicious |

it is generally frowned upon when people play on their own land.

Welcome to ASC.
Heres the age verifiers list, hopefully you can find someone in your area. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=23609 As for playing on private land, you may do so if you wish, but as long as your friend the land owner understands what he maybe getting into letting you and your friends play airsoft on the land, that is in regards to reliability and lack of proper insurance and what not. Aside from that, what you ask is essentially a do so at your own discretion and risk situation, but just to be clear, it is not recommended.

Yeah, there is quite a bit of risk involved, I'm going to check around to see if there are any other options that I can take before we do that, because as you said there are a lot of little variables that can go wrong and I don't want to see that happen.
Just curious, we'd kind of like to just go out and have some targets set up and have kind of a casual day, shoot some targets, maybe make like a course and compete times and crap like that. Is this something that maybe another kind of sport would be better suited towards us (ie paintball?) because we aren't so much interested in shooting at each other. Just kind of doing the whole 'I am more accurate than you' and things along those lines. I hope you see what I mean |

Ah, they are?! Perfect, thank you very much.
I'm thinking that we're going to go that route until we can secure enough people who are age verified to maybe form up a little team and take trips down to events.. but that's in a few years. Wouldn't happen to be like a Pelletgunscanada community or something would there? |
