Hi-Capa 5.1 Slide
Hello everyone and Merry Christmas!
I got a Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 for Christmas and when I try to get the slide off (cocking the gun, pullin the slide back, clicking it in with the piece above the trigger and pressing the button on the other side to get that piece out.) it doesn't seem to want to come off no matter how hard I push the little button! I'm thinking maybe because it's new and its a little stiff but, what do you guys think? Thanks! |

I have the 4.3 and if I remember correctly you have to take the slide catch off, just take a hex key and use it to push the button all the way out and off.

Hey thanks guys, I got it out, I just had to pry it off. I guess it's stiff 'cause its new.
Thanks again and Merry Christmas! |

If you line up the slots on the slide you shouldn't need to force it much. Its easy to do with the BB jam rod but you really don't even need that. There are two slots on the slide release button. One locks the slide back and the other is to slip the slide release lever out to take the slide off.

Well, when I pull the slide back, I put the slide catch in this:
Then I go on the other side and if I just try to push it out with my finger, it wont come out. So what I have to do it get small scissors and push the button, then get a flathead screwdriver and pry the lock out. I've seen a video review on YouTube and the guy who reviews it just pushes it right out easy. |

No, I was talking about his one YouTube - Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 Video Review
Also, one more question while I have a topic open about the Hi Capa 5.1. How do you get the rail on? There are two little silver spots in the gun and I saw in the video above that you have to 'tap them out' what does this mean? Sorry if I'm acting like a complete idiot, I'm fairly new to airsoft and this gun. Last edited by Stupideye; December 26th, 2007 at 19:17.. |

No worries, I was without a clue until I downloaded the 100 page 300 color photo guide. http://www.airsoftgunhobbyequipment....roducts_id=107
When you remove the frame you will see to endintations in the front. You have to puncture these to fit the rail. Normally the 5.1 can not accept the rail. You have to mod it yourself. TM didnt want to deface the 5.1 for those of us that dont use the rail. Its an easy mod though. That dude's shooting sucks ass! He should have been able to get a half dollar sized grouping at that range even with wind. Wind at 20-30', yeah right! |

Theres nothing in airsoft that will require strength except for compressing springs.
