Modification Issue

I don't know if I am in the right area for this but here it is:

I purchased a JG AK47S and I had plans on converting it into a regular AK47 with a fixed stock. I later purchased a King Arms AK47 Receiver from a reputable retailer in Canada. The issue arose when my friend put switched the JG receiver for the KA one. The issue is that where the four screws go into where the magwell is, they will not align at all which means it will not fire properly. The only time when they start to align is when he pushes the top and pulls the bottom. That means he can't really modify the reciever by means of drilling hole into it since if he did the body will be loose and will not function correctly. He believes that I might have to buy another AK47 reciever which I agree with him on that. He also told me that he is looking at other avenues with what he's got instead of saying that I have to get another receiver.

What brand of lower receiver should I get or can I get a KA upper AK47 receiver? Or do you have any ideas as in how to fix the issue at hand w/o me purchasing another receiver of any kind?

Problem is your trying to turn a fake replica AK47 into just a plain old replica AK47.

JG are 100% copies of TM's, if it fits TM it should fit JG, if you buy something else expect a lot of modifications.

Try assembling the upper and lower together without the mechbox, just to ensure that you are able to get a proper fit. Then proceed from there. It would help diagnose the problem a lot if you were able to post pictures - find a camera with macro mode and get us some shots to help you out.

Find someone with a proper TM AK and see if the KA body fits (I don't see why it wouldn't, KA makes great stuff and I've never had the least bit of trouble installing one of their parts). If its your JG clone that isn't quite properly aligned, no aftermarket receiver (made for TM) will ever fit it. So check before you buy anything else.

Kokanee your idea will not work because according to him for which I Just found out, he says that the upper and lower (forward and back) fit together just fine but's it's how the internals line up on the inside of the receiver are the real issue.

Usually, an AK has slots in the inner body for little nuts. The magwell screws go into these.
Carefully fill these slots with epoxy putty, assemble the parts, drill new mount holes into the epoxy.

The issue that arises from that, is that he only has one shot at it and if he is off even by a mm the receiver is ruined. Would modifying the mechbox be a possibility?

I'd still say pics are the best way to go, this just doesn't make any sense as the JG mechbox should be compatible with the body...
