Removing JT elite goggles from mask?
Hey, I picked up a pair of JT elite goggles with face mask today, but I dont want the face mask, I just want the goggles. Any help on how to remove the goggles? There seems to be some little plastic catches and the strap cannot be removed without taking it off. Here a picture of the goggles:
(no visor) Thanks |

Elbow grease and determination. You need to pull out all those connector pole things that goes from the mask portion into the holes around the goggle itself.

I've done this before with a brass eagle mask and it's a pain in the ass, but with the right tools anything is possible

Thanks everyone for the help!
It was actually much easier than I thought. For anyone who gets JT Elites, heres how i did it. 1. Theres on very small plastic bolt holding the top of the goggle, take a multi tool with sharp cutters and cut that. The top is now free to slide out 2. There are 3 more small plastic bolts on the bottom. Cut the two on the left and right, and the middle one just pops out. 3. Carefully slide the goggles out. Now the strap is the only thing holding the goggles to the mask. Right near the lens, on the side where the strap is attached to the goggle, you have to tug a little and the strap slides out. With one side of the strap free, you can now slide the rest of the strap out, and the goggles are now free! 4. To attach the strap back, slide to corner of the strap back in the slot, and use pliers to grab the little bit of strap that sticks out. Pull, and the strap is now back attached. So thats how i removed it, no dremel, not cutting of the strap, and it wasn't very hard. BUT for some of you, there may be some small spaces where bb's could enter from strange tragectories because the mask it no longer there. To easily solve this problem, go to crappytire and pick up some faom weather stripping. It comes in a big roll, more than enough to replace if anything happens. Just apply the sticky side of the foam to the areas that are exposed (varies from person to person). Hope this helps future buyers! |

If You Just Push on the pole/bolt/peg/whatever plastic tab thingies things after applying some spit or silicon lube they will just pop out allowing for re attaching of the mask for CQB and with some creative cutting it can look bad ass and allow for use of iron sights.
