Gun shooting to the right
My gun has been sitting around for about one and a half years. about a month ago i pulled it out of the closet and significantly upgraded it.(deepfire 6.02 300mm barrel, systema silent piston) and a bunch more. I took it out for a test fire and about 4 out of 5 shots is shooting to the right. its about 2 ft to the right at 50ft. Just wondering if this is the hop up or a flawed barrel. oh ya its and ICS MP5
Thanks |

Not sure, but you might want to try to reseat/adjust the hopup nub and rubber.

Why not adjust your sights first?

its not my sights. the ball noticeably curves to the right. I will check the hop up and give the barrel a good clean and see what happens

First adjust your sights as mentioned. If you cannot compensate, take apart your hop-up and reinstall your hop-up. I had this same problem and what I did was installed the hop-up slightly crooked the first time so I fixed it. What happens whe the hop-up is not straight is that some of the "lift" or the low pressure area above the BB created by the backward spin of the BB is shifted to the right of the BB. This will cause the BB to go right just like the hop-up makes the BB resist gravity.

To summarize what Sniper Steve said, just take off your handguard and rotate your barrel counterclockwise a bit, but be careful because you can break your barrel clip if you turn it too far.

The barrel will be clipped straight via the barrel clip, hence its purpose. What Sniper Steve said was, disassemble the hop-up unit as a whole and reassemble giving special attention to the position of the hop up rubber/bucking and basically making sure everything there is re-assembled. If you have a true surface somewhere in your home, take the inner barrel and roll it over the surface ((much like the pool trick to test a cue)). If you have true granite counters in the kitchen such a surface would suffice for a test on such a short barrel. Doing all of the above will make sure that your hop up is not giving a side spin rather than a back spin to your round and make sure the inner barrel is not bent, however do note that it could still be bet the slightest bit and the above test could miss it, specially with how short an MP5 barrel typically is.
