tm m4a1 - loud mechbox after repair

alrite, where shall i begin.. i have a tm m4a1 new type with a version 2 mechbox, no upgrades, all stock.. just recently my spure gear stripped which really messed things up inside.. i managed to get a brand new TM replacement spur gear, in which i decided to try and install myself.
well.. the gun shoots now, everything seems to be fine, EXCEPT it seems to be making a whole lot more noise than it used to. i lubed the bushings, and the new spur gear, but i may have left out a shim or 2, could any please tell me if the shims would the cause of the excess noise, or if it's something else..
any help would be apprectiated.. thanks.

Missing shims can cause excessive noise. Make sure you put them back exactly how they came out.

There isn't a set place, but more along the lines of trial and errors. Read up and follow a mechbox reshimming guide. That should help.

Try Mechbox.com, they have a nice video guide on how to take apart and upgrade (brushings) a TM V2.

Basically remove what will keep the gears from spinning freely in the mechbox.
i.e. Tappet Plate, Anti-Reversal latch, Piston and spring. Put the gears in close
the mechbox and spin them and see if they wobble or feel loose. adjust shimms
accordingly to get the gears to not wobble at all but spin nice and smooth. Then
reassemble like it should be. Also make sure the motor gear sits nicely when back
together and adjust height screw.

IMHO thats how it works after seeing Foxtail do it on a Ver.2 if im wrong please correct it.

Also go to www.mechbox.com for more details
