ICS Overhaul

Hey folks, just wondering if anyone can tell me a few things about the newer ICS M4's, these would be the ones with the turbo-3000 motor and the reinforced gearbox and the like...I assume that these newer parts will fit into my ICS M4. If so, excluding the motor because of the obvious; is it worth going to the newer lower gear box or should a person just get some metal bushings and what not instead? Basically is it cost effective? One more little question that is not related. How do the M203 shells hold up in the winter weather? Do they fire properly?

New for ICS guns this year:

1) Reinforced bevel gear
2) Turbo 3000 motor
3) Steel bushings

The lower gear box (and upper for that matter) are not reinforced. They are the same construction grade as a typical Marui mechbox, just in a split design. I would not recommend anything higher than an M120. My experience has been that this is a little high for the M4, with an M110 being the max usable without changing to torque-up gears and replacing stock bushings as well (ICS axle holes are smaller than all aftermarket gears and you can't use stock bushings).

If I remember, the new ICS also has added two thicker ribs on the sides of the lower gearbox, just for reinforcement of the sides of the gearbox. And a different anti-reversal lever with amended angle (there words, not mine lol!),it's supost to reduce gap between the lever and the gear. And the other for mentioned stuff McGuyver listed above.I was thinking of ordering a newer lower set my self, but I'm not sure who's doing the ICS orders anymore? Anyway hope that gives ya alittle more info,Cheers!

You can use pocket heating pads to put around your m203 shells until you use them. This works well I also use that for my m700

Ignition source + flammable compressed gas = not smart idea.

Just because you haven't had a problem yet doesn't mean that you won't be learning to type with your toes by summertime. Excersise extreme caution when using a flammable gas and any ignition source, including hot-pocket style heaters.
