Upgrade/Mod for M1911a1

Hi, I purchased a TM 1911 this fall after much indesicion, and im extermly satisfied. Now im looking to upgrade/mod it and I had a few questions.
1) I noticed in a previous post a member had a TM hi-capa 5.1 slide on the 1911 and I was wondering if this also will work with slides not manufactured by TM (like the ones in the ASCA)? Also would it be wise to do most of the internals if I upgrade the slide?
2) Also if there is any practical way to mount a laser on it?
If anyone can give me some answers or advice on how to proceed that would be great.

dont know about the first question but they make trigger gaurd mounts for real steel that would work well for laser mounting im not fond of the estetics
but the one I have works well

If you upgrade to a metal slide, I also recommend upgrading the recoil spring to a stronger one.

The "tm 5.1 slide on a 1911" was actually a TM 4.3 slide so i believe the 4.3 hi-capa metal slide will indeed work on a tm 1911
