Hi-Capa magazine is cracking all my feed lips.
Hi,
I'm having some trouble with my Hi-Capa magazine. The original TM lip cracked and I purchased two more PROUD enhanced lips. Only to have those split in two after only sixty rounds. I'm trying to figure out what's causing the problem, so any advice is helpful. PS: For anybody considering the PROUD lips, I would not recommend them. They seem to made of an even weaker material than the stock TM lips. |

My hi-capa mags seems fine. Now, are they cracking after a certain amount of insertions or are they cracking because of the way you store them in your mag pouch?

I have 3 hicapa mags, usually just load them by hand instead of using speed loader, and I have no signs of cracking or wear. I haven't ever heard of anybodys hicapa mag lips cracking either.

I've seen/heard of Hi-Capa mag lips cracking under three circumstances:
1.) The mag is dropped lips down 2.) There is something (BB, broken part from the gas chamber etc) in the chamber when a mag is inserted and the lips come in contact with it. 3.) You load the magazine from the bottom as recommended but accidentally let go of the follower which causes the few BB's in the mag to slam into the lips from below causing a break. Even if it doesn't break the lips, this kind of thing can damage the lips to the point where they will break under normal use. |

The mags are heavy the lips are plastic. I have broken a few. Gluing them with decent instant glue (Cyanoacrylate) works untill next time. Just remember to de burr them after.
