help putting a bypod on my M14

I was just wondering do I have to take the thing apart to put the bypod on? what is the easiest way to do this?
I don't normaly take things apart on account of I can't put em back together.

I got the harris bypod and I bought the lil nub mount thingy for it as well. (these are all technical terms) The nub just screws into my M4 rail but there are no threads on the M14. Or do I just put it where the front sling mount is. Damn what a time for Manchovie to go away!!!!

So please any help would be hot

You have to take the receiver part (the wood/green plastic thing you hold, not sure if that's the right name) off. Might as well disconnect the battery, you don't want to damage the cables.

The rest is pretty easy unscrew the nub, put the bottom piece on the outside but thread the screw through the hole. From there simply screw the thing back on and it will clamp onto the receiver. To make sure my nub was secure, I put some threadlock there as well but it's not necessary. Attaching the bipod is the same as with the M4.

The bipod stud screws into the stock bed near the front.

Be sure to set your M14 to full auto before attempting to remove the receiver assembly.

uh ohhhhhh... why? I'm pretty sure mine was semi and it all came off ok. Though I still cant figure how to disconnect the cables to the battery compartment

As you remove the receiver from the stock, cant the barrel end upwards and pull gently, ensuring you have already removed the battery from the electrical connections.

Gently pull and just inside you will see a mini connector.
