HK416 Battery Mod
Ok, I got this feeling that despite my searching I'll get flamed but let's try anyway...
This is my problem: Planning on turning TM M4 into HK416 using metal body upgrade. Need to find a way to put in a battery, Mini or Large doesn't matter. Doesn't appear to be any room in the foregrip for a mini battery. Kit comes with a crane stock, but its not the standard 416 stock so I don't want to use it. I don't want to use a crane stock or LAM module. What are my options to connect a battery onto the rifle? Anyone who has the kit already, can you get a battery into the foregrip?

If you don't want to use the Crane stock or LAM module, you don't have much option except for a fake redimag system (I personally don't like it because that also gets in the way) or going for another stock solution such as a full stock or modstock replica of some sort.
Other than that, you could perhaps go with an external battery bag solution. |

Is the telescoping stock on the M4 hollow?

Just the buffer tube, but you won't be able to even get enough mini 2/3A cells in there to be able to power the gun...
Unless you keep your stock extended about 6cm at all times, in which case you may be able to fit the 7 mini cells required for 8.4v. |

A normal M4 crane wouldn't be bad, it looks closer to the real 416 stock than the one that comes with the kit.
I'm just wondering if theres anything else I could hollow out that would do the job.

Yeah, it's strange that Hurricane would go with that design for the stock.
All H&K photos of the 416 look like they have an H&K branded LE stock. It's skeletonized, so there would be no room to put in the stock itself except in the buffer tube. The VLTOR Modstock replica stocks that hold batteries are the only other solution besides a crane stock... But the only option that I would recommend is the G&P crane stock. |

I have done just that one one of my AEG's, but hiding a battery inside a emptied out shell of an M4 mag is easier than it sounds. At least a large battery anyways.
Maybe I could have had better luck hiding a mini battery, but I had the AEG rewired to the rear specifically to use a large battery. I sacrificed one, maybe 2 crappy midcap mags in my unsuccessful attempts to make it work. Although if you have good fabrication skills or access to more than just very basic hand tools, maybe you will have better luck than me. Anyways, best of luck with your project! |

the battery stock come with hurricane 416 kit is replica of the HK 417 model stock (additional buffer for 7.62x51 recoil). design wise, it is H&K original design.
