I dont understand, is there something wrong with the CA piston and piston head?

it seems to be more brittle then other brands and this will casue it to be more prone to stripping. almsot all CA249 owners change out the piston as the 1st thing they do.

Use it till it breaks, you might luck out like I did. I've got well over 100,000 rounds through mine and the only thing I've broken was a spring. Most of those rounds were with a TP170.

no, no, no, I broke the TP 170 spring, then i replaced it with another. the piston and all other internals are doing just fine.

Ok let's keep it simple.
In my opinion, buy the CA M249, don't bother upgrading anything other than the main spring (according to what your local club allows and what you feel you need). Fix what breaks when it breaks. Some people have had bad luck and the piston stripped almost right away. Others like myself have had no issues with them. The spring that broke was due to the fact that it had over 90,000 rounds on it.
