Ak 47 modification need help
Hello, I need help, I have a TM ak 47 and I want to turn into a short ak, Can some one please explaine to me how to rewire the wires from the back of the gun to the middle so I can use a stick battery that goes in the top of the reciever like on the ak47S. Im a noob to modifications and I was hoping someone could explaine to me how to do this, maybe some pictures or links to sites with walkthroughs on how this can be done. Your help would be very appriciated, thx.

I haven't done it myself, but it was described to me as
A) Cut off a piece of the plastic part that covers the top mechbox (Also holds the hopup adjustment slider) big enough to fit the small battery connector through B) Remove the small to mini adaptor that is attatched (Located in the stock IIRC) C) Run the small connector into the top of the receiver. The other option, i'd imagine, would be to replace the mechbox cover with one from the AK47S. My described method costs nothing, however. |

You will be stuck with the rear stock mounts on the back of the frame. If you remove those, the change is permanent and does not really look good.
You would be better off buying a spare AK47s frame and transfer the parts over. |

I need it explained in depth deatil and I dont want to gut anything of I think theres a way to do this without cutting out anything just passing the wire through or around the mechbox and coming out the top under the adjustable sight, like this. Ignore the picture quality it was taken with a Nokia N70
2 magapixel camera. Last edited by Alexei; June 14th, 2008 at 19:30.. |

There isn't a way to do it without cutting that wouldn't risk pinching/breaking wires. I gave you a damned step by step here, short of doing it for you I have nothing.
