Quality of Systema drop-in gearboxes: good or bad?

I'm looking to purchase a high speed gearbox for a G3 SAS. Some people say that the QC of systema parts isn't that great, but just wanted to know if that applies to even their high dollar parts.

So if anyone has personal experience with them and could tell me what they think, i'd appreciate it.

I've heard the quality on their full drop-in gearboxes is quite high, although the consensus is you can usually buy similar or better upgrade parts and do it yourself (or have someone do it for you) for a lot less money. If the reinforced gearbox is necessary then I suppose it makes more sense, although I would first check to see what they're made from. If it's still just a cast potmetal frame then no amount of reinforcing will help if you install high stress components. If it's a milled aluminum box I would have a lot more faith in sinking large dollars into it.

If all you're looking for is high speed and aren't breaking more than 350 fps or so, I'd say you could save a lot just by installing high speed gears and a few other choice components.

I have only closely inspected and opened up one of these gearboxes.

Here are my impressions:

The frames are casted metal frames.

They entire gearbox isthe same as what you can assemble yourself with individual Systema parts for sale, ut buying it as this package is just easier and it saves a couple of dollars.

The SYSTEMA logo stamped and painted on the side of the mechbox is a classy touch

When I opened up the gearbox, I noticed the gears were lubricated with Systema gear grease.

The cylinder and piston head were lightly lubricated with Systema cylinder grease.

However, the rails on the piston and the piston guides on the mechbox were not lubricated at all. It was dry as far as I could tell. I added some Tamiya ceramic grease and moved on to the next area of inspection.

Other than that, all of my impressions of Systema products are in fairly high regards. They have a higher QC than many other brands.

i agree there only around 240 us it 's cost more than that to change everything including a reinforcred mech box

Systema is legendary. Their high performance products are the premiere parts on the market. There guns sell for over a thousand US, and are used in law-enforcemnt training, thats a dead giveaway. If you have the money, get it.
