Hi everyone, I'm new here (have been lurking for a while).
Not sure if this is the right spot for this, but I'm putting it here anyways.
I just picked up the TM MP7A1 from the nice folks at
Tiger Tactical.
My first impressions are: Beautiful piece of machinery. Looks almost identical to the real steel counterpart, and it is very solid. No squeaks or rattles. Lots of metal, the flip up sights are great. Feels well balanced and solid in my hand.
Some things I noticed- magazine ejection is crap, tricky to get it out especially with big fingers, and why is both the release and the magazine casing made of plastic??? Might be better with a hi-cap mag (going to pick one up soon).
Haven’t really had a chance to rigorously test performance, and my outdoor expectations are not very high. All I can say so far, indoors, is that it is very accurate (haven’t adjusted hop up yet) and very fast.
I skimmed through the thread on MP7A1 chargers… I notice mine getting extremely hot, the battery is warm also, but nothing out of the ordinary in that respect. The charger on the other hand is something I would classify as out of the ordinary… almost to hot to touch for more than a few seconds. Do you guys think I should head to radio shack, or just leave it and hope for the best? I charged the battery for about 2 hours and then popped the battery into the MP7 (charger was still giving me the red light) and fired about 200 rounds. Put it back on the charger after that and has been there for around an hour and still seeing a red light. Not sure if this is due to the voltage issue.
Any advice/tips on the battery would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.
