Sig 552 and new outer barrel
How easy should it be to put.. say a PDI M14-390mm Outer Barrel on TM sig 552?
I'm thinking about upgrading my sig 552 and was thinking on putting, among others thing, a: SYSTEMA 6.04 BS Airsoft AEG M16A1A2 VN AUG Barrel 509mm. Thanks |

You want to put a 509mm innerbarrel to replace the sig's 247mm  The PDI M14 outter barrel is design to fit onto the M14.
Suggerstions -Don't put a 509mm in a 552 without installing a new cylinder -Don't put a 509mm in a 552 -Cover the excess barrel with a Guarder HK94 Outer Barrel -Don't put a 509mm in a 552 -Cover the excess barrel with a silencer -btw Don't put a 509mm in a 552 |

If i want a longer innerbarrel I guess I need to put a longer innerbarrel. and yeah I want to totally upgrade de sig... my question was woudl it be easy or doable to put a long outer barrel m14 or m16 or whatever on the sig 552.. because I just don't want to have a silencer on it...

i don't believe the outer barrels of the other 2 guns would mount on the sig without modifications. i would listen to eddie"-Don't put a 509mm in a 552". try to find someone selling a sig 550 or 551.

Your better off having a barrel custom built for the 552. Just makes life easier.

You may be able to find an outer barrel extender that will fit over the normal barrel and screw into the threading. I remember seeing them for CQBR's to change them to full M4 length without getting a whole new barrel.

AGREED with eddie, modding that much barrel is pretty ghey. if you want a gun with that length of barrel, buy a gun that comes with that length of barrel. nothing is quite as ghey as a guy with a 2 foot mp5 barrel. or in your case a 2.5 foot barrel on a 552. not sure how many other fields do this, but the field i run has a club agreed rule limiting barrel extensions to 6" from stock (including silencer). so if you tried to play at our field, well you wouldnt.

I'm in a similar position...
I have a Sig552 I want upgraded. I want an M14 length inner barrel. I'm upgrading the Sig552 to 395fps and then I'm buying a TM M14 and upgrading it to 395fps. I'm only getting one or two mags for the M14 as I plan on using it as a marksman rifle, carry it on a sling over my shoulder for long shots, use the Sig552 (or whatever primary I have that day) for everything else. |

I was think about upgarding my Sig552 with a longer inner and outer barrel, and decided against it due to some budgetary concern and that the gun may ended up losing its original look.
Finally I had illusion upgraded for me a couple months ago...at 350fps and it has an impressive range with the stock inner and outer barrel untouched. Just giving my two cents about Sig552 barrel upgardes. |

Putting a much larger barrel/ect onto a compact gun really defeats the purpose of it, I'd know.
Anywho, all you'll need is an outter barrel that is 14mm - threaded. (It will screw directly into place where your flashhider currently is.) Then you can pair it with whatever size inner barrel you like. Also, make sure to pair it with a proper cylinder. The Sig 552's cylinder is designed for barrels around 247mm's. Whatever length inner barrel you choose to install, pair it with the cylinder from the gun its intended to be used with. Hope that helps. If you have any further questions/ect feel free to private message me and I'll help ya out. |
