TM MP5K vs. TM MP7
I have decided that I am going to get a sidearm in about a month after a little bit of research, but right now I have my eyes on the MP5K and MP7. Which do you guys think is an all around better gun, and please list pros and cons. Feel free to give me other suggestions, as I am open to them. I just don't want to get a gas gun because I kind of get tired of always buying gas and refilling mags.
Thanks in advance. |

MP5K by far. The MP7 is a rip off for what you get. The MP5K can use all MP5 mags, take stick batteries with up to 1400mah capacity and be upgraded like any other AEG. Parts would be easier too find too and the K is usually alot cheaper.

AEP?
The things you picked aren't really good "sidearms" unless you're a gorilla...

I was facing a similar decision for a sidearm (had a bad experience with gas pistols just before) and found out as much as I could about both. After hours of research I wouldnt even consider an MP7, ever, as said it isnt an AEG, its an AEP, uses a similar firing mechanism to that in the new G18c AEP, not up to normal AEG standards, at least from what I read as I dont have experience with any AEP's but have seen MP5k's at games, solid little gun, but considering size, I'm sticking with pistols instead of a SMG.
I ended up staying with gas pistols and getting a WA gun. |

The MP7 is a decent CQB backup, quite a comfortable little gun too, the MP5K would be my choice though, mainly because I would upgrade it and such. Tough choice for me actually.

I know the MP5K is a little big as a sidearm, but I was also thinking about using it and the MP7 for CQB.

I can't talk about the MP7, as I never tried one, but I can comment on the MP5K, which is my current primary weapon (yeah, even in the woods). I like the fact that it's ultra compact and reliable. It uses the same mags as the MP5 series and it's upgradable, plus it's less expensive than most AEGs (a lot cheaper than a MP7). I don't like the sight thought, but then again I don't really aim THAT often hehe. Also it doesn't come with a stock if you buy the vanilla MP5K. So basically you can't go wrong with the 'K if you're aiming for a CQB or backup gun. Buy now

always LOVED the look of the MP7 but after a lil' thiking, I'd go with the K.
240 fps and a 500 mAh battery isnt enough. |

not a game goes by where someone doesnt have bettery problems...Aside from me not leaving my mags charged(and thus seals died), I have never seen GBB problems except in +30c weather.

The entire AEP series seems to be enjoying feeding difficulties. The two pistols (G18 and M93R) that the local arena rents out are almost always out of service, and one dude that bought an MP7 here had it misfeed a lot when he got it. Did the lube fix, it worked for a while, then back to the same problem.
I'd stick with the tried and true. Seems the AEP is not yet a mature technology by any stretch. |

i've had a chance to take fiddle with both guns and the MP5K is the better gun by far the MP7 is at times finegy the MP5K as been battle field proven the MP7 is yet to and the MP7 COSTS WAY TO MUCH!

The K & PDW perform the EXACT same. I've owned both variants and done all sorts of weird shit to them.
Stock accuracy aint to bad, about that of your average GBB. I've had stock and upgraded, regular & assorted tightbores & then everything else. I'd for sure take the MP5K surely on price, options & reliability. For the cost of an MP7, I can buy a brand new MP5K, buy a buch of mags & add upgrades. MP5K for sure. (I think you'd have to be a fool to pay $490 for a damn AEP, even it if is a "MP7", its a waste of money for what you get.) |
