TLP-15 charger spontaneous death

I picked up a used TLP-15 off the boards. Its the same one here:
http://www.tokyo-model.com.hk/trade/productview/1347

I plugged it in shortly after purchase and it worked fine. I put it away for three weeks and now it doesn't work anymore!

I've checked the fuse (both internal and external), the power cord (swapped cords), different power outlets, connected to a power source using the alligator clips and even cracked it open to look for obvious signs of a short.
The charger does not power on when connected to a battery.

Beating and screaming at the charger does not seem to work.

Anyone have any ideas before I chuck this charger?

Did you check the cord that plugs into the battery? I had a loose pin in the plug and it wouldn't fire up.

If anyone can recommend a brick&mortar store in the GTA area that might be knowledgable with chargers please let me know. It pains me to have such a nice charger die like this.

You've got an expensive paperweight here.

I have the exact same charger (it's my 2nd actually). The first died on me the way you described it, checked the fuse and all external connexions, nothing looked wrong, plugged it again, *BANG!* then fire followed.

Tru was kind enough to replace it free of charge, never had a problem since then. It seems that other TLP-15 users had the same problem too, and there's not much we can do about it as it is quite complicated electronics inside.
