KSC M93r first gen compatible with second gen parts?

Was looking for a full auto pistol, glocks are too common and I prefer the looks of a Beretta so was considering getting an M93r first gen (in the sale section). I wanted a metal slide and compensator for durability/looks but the parts for it on rangers are listed as for the second gen version (reviews also say first gen is better, dont know if this is true or not). So would the second gen parts work on a first gen gun? I'm not sure what the difference between the two are.
