ICS M4A1 vs CA M15A2
Hi,

ICS M4s have some incompatibilities, namely the piston which is of a different length, and the spring which doesn't like aftermarket spring guides. The split gearbox is prone to torquing with heavy springs which results in failures. The finish on ICS guns is a dull grey with Olympic Arms trademarks laser engraved. Personally I don't like the look of the finish and trademarks at all. The rear of the receiver is also too long to mimic a real weapon, stretched by ICS to accomodate their split gearbox design.
I would definitely go with a Classic Army gun. It's proportioned properly, has better internals, a nicer finish, a simpler gearbox, and is fully compatible with all aftermarket parts. |

The new ICS has a new finish and Colt trademarks, as well as a Turbo 3000 motor, said to be lightyears better.
Though, I really like my CA. The ROF is kickass too. Internals are compatable too... I like that, though, split gearbox is a turn on... but crap-compatibility screwed that off. Personally... it's CA for me. (Yes, I did own a ICS) EDIT - Sorry I can't be more helpful, get it and be happy. I'm not taking the time to write a damn review because you can't search further than the retailer's description. |

I didn't tried the CA one but...
I can tell the ICS one is fantastic! Sure the finish is not as good but the split gearbox system is kinda realy practical! And the Spring decompressor able to unjam the gearbox saved me a couple of time! Seriously, ICS all the way! And read the reviews, from what I've read (Arnies, RedWolf, etc.) they're all positive! |

On the CA M15A4 carbine or CA M15A4 RIS..i know they may use different type batteries, or at least i think so. My first tm m4 ris used a Sanyo 8.4v 600mah no upgrades. Now thinking of buying CA CA M15A4 RIS one ......what kind of battery is gonna support? Some reviews say you can go as high as 10.8v but no specification in mah. Seen 10.8v batteries with 1500mah and 1700mah. Which one to get? Or go down to 9.6v 1500mah or 8.4v 3000 or 3300mah. Whoever's got any knowledge on this subject drop me a line. Thank you.

Personally I like the ICS split gearbox design, because it is so simple to slide out and exchange the upper gearbox for indoor or outdoor game. And my ICS M4 has no problem of using the ICS M4 upgrade kit MA-56 (with M120 spring).
PS: It is easlier for me to lube the gears too. |

Thank you all for answers. Still for last weeks I been researching CA RIS and ICS RIS. I know they are all metal(less than the stock), have the peq unit, no wobble, but I believe CA gives you a better fps stock than ICS(310). "Some reviews were saying that the CA one can go as high as 360fps"? The build is similar, CA=black body-doesn't match the mag colour; ICS=greenesh body-matches the mag colour? Ok then why the difference in price - $120CAD. ICS RIS price minus CA RIS price and you get that $120CAD. Would you guys drop me a line telling me which one is better, why the price difference or whatever comes to your mind?

For $120, I'd rather go with the CA and spend the rest on MAGs and BBs, but that's just me.

Avoid G&G until they really solve their previous issues. By next year we'll know.
G&P has some issue as well though, but they're very simple to fix usually and the performance is good. ICS is usually a stellar performer, but upgrading can be troublesome as parts are not always intechangable and motor performance can be awful with heavy springs. C.A. really seems to have their act together and so far the quality and performance seem to be very good. I have the ICS M4 R.I.S. and it's always been a good performer. I also have an SPR, but it's a big gun and it's leaving to make way for a G&P CQB/R. I've had the chance to work with a couple of C.A. M15A4 CQB's and both seem to be solid and the R.O.F. is very good at 360 FPS. Just my 2 cents.

upgraded my ICS m4 with metal bushing, pdi 150% and eg1000 motor and didnt have any problems since (except the little thingy for the safe mode broke). plan to change the piston, piston head, barrel and spring guide in near future
