Recoil Spring/Rod Upgrade for KSC G18c
Is it safe to install the metal recoil spring + rod fo the Glock 18c? My gun has a platic slide and just wanted to make sure that it wont crack the slide or anything from the upgrade.

An enhanced recoil spring will make it wear faster. I wouldn't suggest getting a recoil spring untill your ABS slide breaks and you buy a metal one. I find the blowback is still very fast with ABS slides with stock springs. The recoil rod is a pointless investmen, the stock one should be fine.

Stock one is plastic, enhanced comes with metal rod. While the stronger recoil spring returns the slide to battery faster, it also absorbs more of the recoil (blowback). Not sure which is worse, but my stock G19 is running just fine with an enhanced recoil spring installed.

the first upgrade i got for my G18c was the enhanced spring, and it is probably one of the best upgrades for the price ($20-$25)
it didnt seem to wear anything down, but then again i didnt keep my glock plastic for too long. a metal slide is also a great investment, just be sure to have the enhanced spring guide. it will make the cycling of the metal slide much faster and smoother |
