Maruzen M870 and Real shotgun shells
Ok I have search but really haven't found the answer I am looking for.
Ok 2 questions about the 870 gas shell ejecting shotty. 1. Not talking about internals at all just the body. How is the build? durable or cheap feeling? 2. Are the shotgun shells the same dimensions as real shotgun shells. Lets say I had some real empty shells laying around if I loading it up in the shotgun would the gun cycle and eject them? And no I am not considering turning airsoft into a real shotgun before some idiot asks. I have some idea brewing in my head and just want to know before I go out and buy one. |

1) The build is strong and solid I must say. Very nicely done. However the receiver and outer barrel is a semi gloss black plastic (Easily remidied with a metal body). So it's not terribly pretty, but it doesnt look or feel cheap either The synthetic stock and pump handle are a nice composite plastic. The gun feels sturdy as a bag of bricks and preforms quite well with custom upgrades. The shells don't eject anywhere near the length away as a real shotgun unfortunately but still very fun nonetheless. I reccomend one for the collector, or for somebody who is looking for something unusual to add to their collections.
2) I'm wondering that myself too, I wanted to make my own realistic looking shells to stick in there just for show. Too my knowledge no but i've never measured the dimentions of a real shotgun shell.

I've read Japanese law requires replica guns & parts a tiny bit smaller than the real iron cousins to prevent inter changing parts. So I doubt a real 12 gauge shell will fit. Just my guess.

their shotty is built on the 20 gauge standard. The shells are significantly smaller than 12 gauge.
