Aluminium/Poly??
can anyone give me their ideas on Aluminium vs. Poly Pistons??
Pro's/con's?? I can see were the poly piston would be easy on gear teeth but is their huge disadvantages to running Aluminium?, are they harder on gear box's? is weight an issue. I run standard ratio Prometheus hard gears,9.6 bat, would Aluminium be compatible?, over all is Aluminium stronger or less likley to strip/fail?. if I was going to go to a high speed set up, would Aluminum work? Thank you |

Your reinforced gears are probably going to chew up an aluminum piston, leaving shavings floating around your mechbox. I'd recommend a regular polycarb piston, Guarder or Systema or Prometheus or whatever.

Judging from this review, the Guarder and G&P poly pistons are the best AEG poly pistons you can buy.

Poly... only way to go. I'd rather have my pistons chewn through, not my gears. Besides, having metal savings in your box is never a good thing.
