I like to lay them on the bodies of my dead enemies as a form of calling card that I had passed that way for future enemies to come across as a warning.

I run a chicom rig for my AK, and it stays rigid enough that I can just drop the empty mag right back in.

I reindex my mags, and if I don't have time to even do that, I drop them to the ground and collect afterwards.

I run both fast mag and taco pouches, and rarely have issues getting them back in one handed. Typically my fast mag pouch is my reload pouch. After engagements I'll cycle out empty or low mags into my front 2 flapped pouches.

But one key thing is practice. Practice. Practice. The more you practice reindexing your mags on the go, the faster/better You will get.

Depends on the vest.
If I'm using a "historical" load bearing system (Soviet leather and fabric webbing, 90s Serb vest, Chicom...) I put my empty mags upside down in empty pouches.
If I use something more modern, I drop my mags in a dump pouch, and when I have a break, I take the mags from the dump pouch back and put them upside down in the empty pouches.

I tried a few solution, the easiest solution for single hand and 100% sure that it wont fall is my back pocket, mind you I wear jeans at the game. It gives me enough space to keep one securely in each pocket.

One of the easiest approach for you may be want to try one of these for one handed approach:

Reinserting into the pouches has always been difficult during fire fight specially as a one handed operation. I am experimenting with small size dump pouch which is somewhat promising.
